New Pyrolga twins... #2 put out 2 new blooms the other morning and they both look set.
First pumpkin of 2024 is set! Loving that green coloration while it lasts, it looks like it's already fading out (it'll pale out to yellow and then all the yellow will pale out to white)
Had a few nights just cool enough that I've finally got a couple of Pipsqueaks set!
got a fruit set on my very last tiny straggler vine and it turns out it's a Cinnamon Girl which I forgot I even planted
my tiny Connecticut Field pumpkin has a guardian
Koko is a month old as of Friday and so probably ready to be harvested! (What do you advise for storage?)
Katisha is oranging up nicely!
...hello! I had to trace the vine backwards but this girl seems to be Guerrilla Pumpkin 4 (Koko 2 and Katisha may have been 1 I think...) I think I will call her Patience
Meanwhile Guerilla Pumpkin 5 has breached containment. (Why did the pumpkin cross the road...?) I moved the vine out of traffic to the best of my ability
PAnd found this tiny baby!
Looks like it's going really well over there! Koko looks good to go. As for storage, just room temperature is fine in my experience. What you want to watch out for is avoiding trapping moisture against the surface, which leads to rot. Just set her somewhere on a breathable coaster (cardboard, cloth) and make sure she isn't leaning against anything nonporous.
yoooo I think we've got an Early Giant here!
