A Just So Story...
My son had an assignment to make his own just so story. One of those enchanted make believe stories, about how an animal got a specific feature… have you heard of this?? Rudyard Kipling did them.. It was one of the funniest things I have gotten to do with him and his school work!! I had such a good time with him, thinking about characters and what was going to happen to them, I had to be careful I didn’t take over completely and let him think up his own ideas!! It dawned on me, I have this passion for imagining stories, providing i get the right direction and structure for creating them. I think I found something I may be really good at?! My son enjoyed it too but perhaps not as much?! So here I am on Tumbler too.. I’ve started thinking about writing a short story for both my children. I have a little girl who is 5 and my son who is 10.. They are the loves of my life and I’m complete because of them.. They are perfect in every way.. What better idea than writing them both a story?! So, I have been asking them all kinds of question’s; “What’s your favourite colour”.. “What’s your favourite food.. name… etc, etc” I’m excited to see where it takes me and perhaps I can share them here later? In my school days, I realised how much I loved to act on stage.. I was sure I would become an actress someday.. unfortunately, I took different paths and didn’t pursue that much longer after leaving college. I do remember, creating plays and getting awards for my achievements, plus great grades in Drama and English. Yes. I think this has been my destination.. To write. I had a great imagination doing performing arts, I hope I can show that in my writing too.
