That’s really true - I mean yeah, I think it would take a long time to be able to build a client base big enough to do that? But this person basically is saying that it’s never going to be possible and that someone else would have to pay the bills. So just theoretically, but yeah one would assume that if you decide to go full time that you’re actually at a good profit margin.

I just wanted to say that I love your blog and it always makes me so happy to see your posts! So, how long have you been doing tarot, and how long have you been in the tarot community on tumblr?

Thank you! I love reading your detailed replies on posts.  You’re always so thoughtful and reasonable.  It’s always just delicious food for thought.

So, my oldest deck is aged at… idk … 18 years now?  Something like that.  Though I just goofed off with it during my teenage years when I was a witch to be trendy.  I mean… who couldn’t resist after seeing the movie “The Craft?”

Met a guy in my 2nd year of college and boxed that puppy up and forgot about it.  I did a lot of things for him that I shouldn’t have.  Ah young dumb love.  Anyways several years later we parted ways and I stumbled upon my old trusty when I moved back home with my mom.  It was a long relationship and I needed some soul healing, so I figured that if anything personal tarot reading and studies could provide that for me.  That marked my serious dive into tarot.  That would have been about 6ish years ago now.

I created this blog in Jan. of 2015  but due to some other obligations and then a multi state move (my god if I ever move again it’s too soon, it was a hot mess) I dipped off and away from the tumblr community in March.  Came back in December that year and have been doing my best to participate since.  The revival track record is going a little better I think.

Like, I’m definitely not going to sugarcoat my readings, but I also think it’s really important not to succumb to feeling like disaster is inevitable.  We create our own futures, and what we think and speak is what we manifest, so optimism is necessary, I think.

That’s a steep question! Haha…ugh…

What’s most important to me right now is standing up for other people’s rights, including my own, so I hope that before I die I can make a difference in that aspect. It’s just kinda crummy right now because most of the people I know outside of Tumblr don’t appreciate when I open my mouth haha…

Case in point - in a group message someone just made a joke about Native Americans and now I’m politically correct and a fun-killer.

Would you mind if I started doing an oracle card for the evening? I usually (when I remember/am able) post my daily tarot in the early morning, and your nightly oracle got me thinking that it would be cool to do an evening oracle for those who aren't there for the morning, and to help me bond with my oracle decks. You've pioneered this (I've not seen anyone else take this angle), so I wanted to ask you before I started doing it, because I got the idea from you doing it.

omg you’re too cute!  Ofc I don’t mind (and thank you, bc you’ve just reminded me that it’s about that time) and I’m sure I’m not the very first person to do it.  the tag #goodnightoracle on instagram actually had a few other posts before I started using it (I didn’t know at the time but there were only a very few)

This may be a silly question, but does getting a deck trimmed mess with its integrity? For example, does it make the cards more likely to come apart from the front/back? I want to get my oracle decks trimmed (they're large and I think they'd look better without borders, especially the ones by Alana Fairchild since the borders don't all match), but my main worry is if it will mess with the structural integrity of the cards.

Not that I’ve noticed, and I have several trimmed decks by now.  But they aren’t really any of them “workhorse” decks that are being used daily.  I think.. I think my oldest trim is about a year old and it’s holding up perfectly as of yet

What is this chat that is being hosted? I'm still pretty new and don't know much about it.

SOOO tinychat is basically a chat room, you can broadcast video if you’d like or just use text chat.  and once a week I open up the room to whoever wants to come and we just bullshit.  sometimes we play games based on tarot, sometimes we don’t really talk tarot much at all lol, but it’s nice to get to know other people that way!
