i’m glad armenia’s artsvik delivered us this year’s björk entry i feel like every year needs a good björk entry. previous ones include latvia’s aminata, norway’s margaret berger and albania’s rona nishliu.
there’s been lots of talk about the reveal of lefou being gay in the new batb film.
well here he is in action! he’s certainly flamboyant and very obviously into gaston here, which, idk, i can’t find it in myself to mind it? the actor seems really invested in the role, which i appreciate.
still, i certainly understand the critique of making the villain’s sidekick literally named “the fool” whose love interest dies in the cartoon your gay rep but idk. i’m withholding my judgment until the film is out. i’ve read the director is gay so here’s to hoping. i mean, there’s still a chance he does a surprise hero turn and they actually give him a proper romance with someone but i’m not exactly holding my breath or anything here.
still, it is 20-fucking-17 so it’s all kinds of sad that these apparent table scraps are what we’re getting and they’re probably expecting kudos and pats on the back for this bare minimum effort.
