Body Positive Selfies 12 000+ notes later.
All summer 2017 I have been posting and discussing body positive. Of course this attracted a lot of haters, but all they did was make me more proud of all the contributions that my fans made. <3

That is spreading a message. Instead of just focusing my time promoting my music, I dropped my ego and promoted how cool the people are that support Body Positive. The fans dropped their egos when they labeled their photos and sent them as a submission. Together we represent a real message of self love in every “Body Positive” posted on tumblr all summer long.

I don’t post pornographic images and I don’t care about how people choose to express self love, a basic right along with dignity and humanity. I asked fans and Body Positive supporters to submit or post photos of their confidence and I posted every one of them unless they were nudes. (I am not ashamed of seeing nude submissions in my inbox, they were beautiful too!) As an Artist, I am validated if I made you feel anything. What did we accomplish? Love, Support, Understanding, Respect and ART.

Nothing to do with each other in my mind to make sense of it. Just because everything is connected somehow doesn’t make some things connected. Opposition exists everywhere there is harmony.

JX and the Badwells now has thousands and thousands of followers who have stuck with me during all the ups and downs as I strive to create music and find a place in the music industry, while holding on to my integrity.
Fans who have come to know about our creativity, our sound and the truth of who we are, these are the people I believe in. Our fans believe in us, we get gigs at festivals and events. Our fans believe in us, they help us make social statements that matter. Our fans believe in us, so I keep on keeping on <3.
Most importantly, an audience that is helping us push 100 000 plays of our music, that shared their hearts and minds with me and my art.

Each single was written, recorded and posted within the same week. Many musicians and people around me locally think that was a mistake and that I can’t be taken seriously as a musician. My whole motivation was to build a fan base of people who could see what my music is about, by sharing my creative process with them organically over time. “If your song isn’t perfect, you will look like and sound like a fool” they said.
If being understood and respected by tens of thousands of people for making original music makes me a fool, then i am glad to be a fool that knows such love
