Why should you tell them? Well that's not an obligation, it just seem like a very big thing to announce. I tell you that but even when an event happen to me I rarely tell it to my family but it's rather because we aren't close, so I just assumed that perhaps you would tell them since you guys are close. (But you still have the right of your own intimacy right?)
