Sorry I've been away again, only on a few times to quickly say stuff. Been babysitting dogs and a house for the past week and man is it more time consuming than it sounds. I'll be back at home soon though luckily!

It took me some time to figure this out too and am not 100% positive of all the ways but one way I know of that works perfectly is this;

Take the card you want to level the ability of and set it up to level, like you're gonna feed it cards. You can still do this even if its max level, it just won't gain any exp. (Example: You pick the card Smile R Maki with the ability 'Timer Charm')

Pick ONE card that has the same ability NAME (Example: Smile R Eli with the ability 'Timer Charm'). This card doesn't have to be the same card, so long as the ability's name is the same! It can even be a complete different colour, like using a Cool R Nozomi with the ability 'Timer Charm' instead!

The ability level of both cards, the receiving and the fodder should both be at the same level. If you are leveling a level one ability, the fodder should also be level one. (I am not 100% sure if this is right, however I know that level 2+ needs to have at least its own level to actually succeed)

Press the 'practice' button and it'll ask you to confirm (since you're using an R+) and the level should increase.

If your card's ability is at, say, level 2 already then you need to combine two level 1's of the same ability to make a second level 2 card. You then feed THAT card to the original level 2 you're trying to increase.

As you can see, this is why leveling even R card's abilities can become difficult and leveling SR and UR card's abilities are near impossible. I'm also assuming this is why getting within the top 100 in an event gives you a third of the same SR, so you can then raise it's level.

Remember you are not using special practice! This is as if you're just leveling a card normally!
