Love Live ! Otonokids - The game : Welcome to Otonoki
*WHEEZE* I finished that goshdarned game that took me ten months to make. I started working on it in march, and it’s a second anniversary special for this AU I’ve been running for two years now.
So as you can see, for those unfamilar with the AU : This is a love live childhood AU.
The characters are aged from 1 to 3 at most, and this game follows more or less the plot of the actual anime, from both LLSIP and LLSS at the same time, with a few changes here and there to make it work with their age.
Their daycare is going to shut down, and it’s up to them to find a solution, no matter how small they are, no matter how big the issue is, they will try everything to save what’s dear to them.
You’ll mainly play as Nico herself, and will switch around to technically every single character, even a few ones from Sunshine. They all have their own theme songs, which I composed. I didn’t use a single piece of soundtrack that I didn’t make myself. All their sprites have in-game animations, too. I wanted to bring these characters to life the best I could.
It’s constantly switching between gameplay and visual novel, and is pretty much laid back. It was meant to be a comfort little project that will put a smile on your faces.
Important note : Although the characters are very close to each other, you will not have romance or shipping, as the characters are much too young to experience any kind of attraction. For now, they’re bonds in progress, and very strong friendships, and it’s the type of bond that will develop as the characters grow up, which isn’t the purpose or the main focus of this game.
There’s a lot of hidden lore in each level, and you can learn a lot from the story by looking around, and not completing the level right away. The more you take your time, the better your experience will be.
Other notes :
If you run into any bugs/typos I missed during my bug hunt, feel free to report them to me !! I might have skipped a few in my last run, but I’m not entirely sure.
I put the full soundtrack in a zip file, it’s protected with a password, you’ll have to talk to little Riko in the bonus room after you beat the game to get that code.
