We graduated from Traveling Nose Work tonight! That’s a massive deal for Bear, because traveling means new places, new people, high distractions, and lots of scary things! Our instructor gave us a graduation present. Odor tins and straws, one with Bear’s name stamped into it. I’m so happy about it, honestly, because what a sweet gesture!

As far as Nosework updates go, since we’re already doing one... We’re going to be signing up for an ORT in October. Bear hasn’t even transferred all the way from food to odor-- his hides are still paired with food. He may not be there by October. But, I want him to have the experience of being at a trial and sniffing through boxes at a trial, and I think that’s worth the entry fee!

So we’re gonna go do it and see what happens and I’m gonna pay him bigtime for trying it at all. Worst case scenario, he doesn’t want to do the drive and we turn around halfway there. I’m fine with that, because my goal with this whole sport is to get Bear having fun.
