Is Maddie at all included in your version of the canon? How does she feel about William?

Madelyn met William when they were both young. She insists that they kept bumping into each other growing up, but William's memory on the specifics of each encounter are fuzzy. Madelyn believes that these repeat meetings are fate, and that her and William must have some sort of future together.

Mads and Will do become pretty close during highschool, considering each other best friends before medical school splits them up (as they go to different colleges). They try and keep in touch, but you know how medical school is. There's inevitably a period of time where neither of them speak to one another.

During her time away from William though, Madelyn makes some discoveries about herself,, and it's that wow, she was experiencing some mad comphet. She completely subscribed herself to the fate belief, and she does love William, but having the time away from him opens her eyes to the fact that she really does just view the man as family.

William knew about the fate shit and actively chose to the ignore it unless it became a problem. Thankfully it didn't. Once both are graduated they plan a little coffee date to try and make up for the time lost and Madelyn comes out as a lesbian and ofc, William is supportive and happy for her when she explains that she has a date later in the week with someone she met on campus.

Madelyn's nickname is Mads & only William calls her this, likewise she's the only one that calls him Will.

Madelyn is unaware that William is an angel, but very aware that his sister Sal is a demon.

Madelyn's partner is Tyler, Josh's sibling. Tyler is nonbinary and uses they/them and gender neutral pronouns. ("how is Madelyn a lesbian if she's dating a nonbinary person? Isn't that invalidating both of their identities?" I hear a strawman I made up in my head say. My answer: "the intersection of sexuality and gender is more complex than you think. Don't worry about it.")

Madelyn's hobby is crafts, specializing in paper mache.
