Holy paddock pull
And what did mercedes do about it… convenient how they let the drivers beef in a stupid way for half the race when they should’ve MANAGED their tyres, but I guess youngest wdc is all they care about
Attacking your teammate the whole race when you are being told to manage, to avoid getting another track limits notification, to prove you’re faster (I guess), messing up your front wing in the process in a way that could’ve ended both drivers’ race…
You ain’t proving you’re faster, you’re actively not listening to your race engineer and your team, what you end up with? Car damage, dnf and a track limits penalty you’re lucky enough it was considered served on track.
this is the current championship leader. Maybe it’s on for mercedes because in the end the team doesn’t come first but don’t call this guy max verstappen or ayrton senna, driving on the edge is one thing, this is another.
Very interesting read
I’ll die on the hill that kimi has made very little improvement racing wise from last season, but the high perks of the car are masking his deficits.
Like toto said, he’s a driver who drives his car more “harshly” than george, in attacking corners you can see it clearly. The w17 having negative tyre deg helped him a lot up to now, but in a track where tyre deg is pretty high, we will see how things goes today.
And not even speaking about the engine.
please post some of those Twitter comments on that max and kimi pasta thing?? only if its not too much trouble but some of us don’t have Twitter 😭

lmao this fraud just spilled it out
Folks we are winning the saboatage wdc🫶
"I had spoken to someone who goes to all the Grands Prix, who also stands next to Toto - I won't mention his name," begins Van der Zande in Race Café: De Stamtafel. "He said: what is happening right now is that all the engineers are telling Russell exactly what he needs to do. When to press this button, when to press that button, when to lift off. He is doing that very well. He is doing his homework well," emphasizes the two-time 24 Hours of Daytona winner. "That's what you expect, too. He listens well, does exactly what he's told, and his methodology is always in order. Then Antonelli comes along: he doesn't do his homework, he doesn't really come to the simulator – he just goes for a ride and sits in front," Van der Zande continues. "So Russell says: I have to do all this for you guys, because that's how I'll go fastest, but Antonelli just does whatever he wants and drives right past me. That's why he's now trying to drive like Antonelli, by just doing whatever he wants, but that doesn't work."
After the Monaco Grand Prix, where Russell failed to score points, the Briton said he was certain there was 'something wrong' with his driving style. Copying Antonelli's style is not yet happening wholeheartedly at the moment, Van der Zande observes. "That is Antonelli's pure talent; he just arrives and says: I'm doing it by feel, I'm going to drive, and I know when to lower my wing, or what kind of buttons are in the car," the analyst states.
F1 commentator Olav Mol then takes over the conversation and points to Antonelli's retirement in Barcelona, while Lewis Hamilton won. Although the Italian is currently the favorite for the title, Mol points to Hamilton's consistency. "Antonelli is getting nervous too, of course, let's be honest. Hamilton's streak is now: second, second, first. We were all talking about Antonelli's massive lead, but things go downhill fast when you pick up a zero score."
For the time being, Wolff is delighted to have two strong drivers in his team and wouldn't want to change that. He is certain that a better run of Grands Prix is coming up for Russell. "George is incredibly good at analyzing and assessing situations. And sometimes we quickly forget how things stood. I said it to him just recently in Montreal. Back then, he was on pole position, won the sprint race, and was leading the main race," Wolff told GPblog, among others.
"There was absolutely no discussion about a lack of speed at the time. So that was only two weeks ago. That is why we need to keep both feet on the ground, analyze the data, and understand why some weekends have been difficult," said the Austrian. "But I don't see a pattern here that has emerged throughout the season. I couldn't wish for a better combination of two drivers in one team."
See, this is the kind of smear campaign against george I keep seeing happening.
This one specifically makes me laugh because I feel like Van der Zande switched george and 12’s characteristics.
George following his team’s instructions to a T? Lmao since when? Isn’t people frustrated with how marcus is lacking as a race engineer and george is always correcting his team on the fly from inside the cockpit?
Mean while, isn’t people also praising bono for taking care of everything and being the one in control (12 himself said so??) of the situation?
Why are we trying to erase george’s amazing race awareness? And try to give it to the other side of the garage…
