large hands immediately pause in what they are doing, a shock of surprise and a heavy flush immediately finding his cheeks, and they are probably red enough to match the color of his hair now. han hadn’t even been fishing for something like that – his actions had just been solely in regards to wanting to make minjae comfortable, and seeing the pile of books that the other had meticulously stacked near his own bed within their dorm room earlier today had let him known that minjae was choosing his literature for the night and to nestle into the comforts of the words there. which, han never really minded at all, especially when he saw how content the other always seemed when doing it. if it meant he’d be sleeping in his bed alone for the night then that would be fine. his eyes had grown tired after watching a couple episodes of futurama on his laptop, headphones being yanked out from his ears as he moved to get ready for bed but also to leave the dorm room for just a few minutes – only to return with a fresh cup of tea for minjae that he had brewed in the small little lobby outside their dorm. it was almost like a habit now to notice when the other’s previous cup was empty. han had been setting it down on the small nightstand by minjae’s bed, not intending to bother minjae while he read but the other’s voice had surprised him – and again, his words are what made his chest squeeze in an affection that he was still trying to get used to. they hadn’t really made it a thing to simply throw the word ‘love’ out without reason – and han hadn’t expected simply getting minjae tea (without being asked to) would trigger it, but there are goosebumps that spread across his body in reaction, and then he’s looking down at the other from where he’s still leaned over near the nightstand, blinking despite his flushed cheeks and finally offering him a smile, “i just– wanted to make sure you were set before i fell asleep, is all.” he mumbled, before bringing a hand up to cup the other’s cheek, thumb affectionately grazing against the skin there, “but… i love you, too.”
