my little gremlin brain, which does whatever it wants, really wants to write a little sidefic of Kadek calling Arden like 'um so I dommed your boyfriend for five seconds and neither of us expected it so now it's my turn to do whatever my version of falling apart on the phone is haha can we talk about it for a minute' and Arden like 'hang on what.'

Um yeah so this is happening (daily excerpt from today's writing):

‘Hey nerd,’ Kadek said, when the phone finally connected. He was driving a straight now, and had handsfree connected, and he needed to get this conversation out of the way sooner rather than later. Then he was going to go home and play Dark Souls for hours. No, he was going to contact Michelle and ask if she was available for some high protocol fun. Kadek ran his tongue over his teeth. No, he was going to cook something first. ‘You done with the client?’

‘Like I’d be answering if I wasn’t,’ Arden said. ‘Just finished up actually, disinfecting a whole bunch of stuff. Did you get Ef home okay?’

‘Yeah…? I did,’ Kadek said. He practically heard Arden’s inhale. ‘Calm your tits for a second. I just have something- Something fucking weird happened.’

So, now I suddenly really want to see Kade, Arden, and Ef doing a scene together??? That is not something I ever expected to want but Kadek is such an interesting character

Kadek and Efnisien definitely have chemistry, and I think there's potential for that to grow in the future as well. Arden's not especially threatened by the idea of Kadek and Efnisien, and they have already played lightly together, all three of them, and Efnisien did kind of drift off into a soft subspace while they did.

In that sense, I'm not surprised you're shipping Kadek, Arden and Efnisien together! In a way, they've already kind of experimented with what a 'together' dynamic has looked like, and they've certainly talked about it, which opens the door to discussing it more as their relationships evolve.

I think in particular, Kadek and Efnisien growing closer without Arden there is just important for them both. It doesn't hurt Kadek to have someone like Efnisien in his life, and Efnisien could do with more supportive friends and/or queerplatonic partners lol. :D

Morning Pia! Wanted you to know I fell asleep smiling over the idea of Kadek being absolutely chewed out by this tiny Indo-Carribbean sub dangling serenely from his rigging and him eventually just standing there in leather, mouth slightly open as they yell about model minority myth and critical race theory. (They? She? Did you mention in the story if he's exclusively straight? Does he have sex with his models or only tie them?) Here for any more Kadek tidbits!

I haven't mentioned Kadek's sexuality in the story (that I remember). He considers himself queer but doesn't label himself beyond that, because he hates labels. Arden has considered his connection with Kadek to be 'queerplatonic,' but because Kadek doesn't like labels like that, Arden doesn't really harp on about it. But that is mentioned in the story.

He does have sex with some of his models! Kadek enjoys sex, though he will sometimes separate it out from his rope topping. :D

I can definitely see Kadek just standing there and listening about critical race theory and microaggressions and a whole bunch of other things. I imagine he's heard a lot by now! Some of it he takes in. I mean ultimately he's a rare club manager who is very firm about a victims-first policy (I wish this wasn't rare, but this can be quite rare).

Kadek is one of those people who will rile everyone up to have a laugh, and then will call the police on your abuser before anyone else has thought to and make sure you have access to support services afterwards.

I think he pisses people off when he's like 'I don't care about labels' but he's also never gotten a pronoun wrong either once he's been taught it. He's... I think some people hate him, some people love to hate him, some people hate to love him, and others just adore him and roll with 'that's just Kadek.' It helps that generally Kadek is laidback, and he will feed you, and he will open his house to you.

He makes mistakes though, that's for sure, and he has some crappy attitudes about kink! (All subs love collars, pfft). I'm looking forward to him coming into the story again :D

(Same Kadek stan anon) Also since FFS is so tight on Ef's POV, I can only imagine the tough conversations Kadek and Arden might have. I've seen multiple friendships and relationships splinter both when someone chooses to support an abuser AND when they don't, and I am really invested in how Kadek and Arden negotiate this.

I will say though, Kadek was acting in his capacity as manager of a club, and I am very curious to see how he actually reacts when it's just him and Arden alone together, not knowing where Efnisien went.

Basically I think Kadek has compartmentalised his personality enough that we have no exact idea what's happened with Kadek and Arden's friendship. Kadek and Arden have always argued, and yes this one was a huge one, but Arden was being super irrational. The moment Arden sort of really...realises he made a mistake, and the moment Kadek realises that Efnisien is gone, they will both have...

Well they will both be less interested in ruining their friendship and more interested in prioritising what's really important.

We know that Kadek doesn't support Efnisien in the kink club environment, we don't know if that means Kadek doesn't support Efnisien.

And I suppose that will be revealed in the rest of the story. :D

If it's any consolation at all Kadek actually isn't even in this chapter, and they're all just being very silly sdalkfjdaslfksa

Tbh it's not out in the Falling Falling Stars universe yet!

That story is still technically set in the past, because it started in 2020, and only about 6 months have gone by in-universe. (The pandemic also doesn't exist, thankfully).

Though he will, of course, love it. I don't think it has to be good. (And I wouldn't know, I only ever saw Despicable Me and haven't seen the rest. Kadek and I do not share a mutual love of Minions).
