Customized Chemical Peel Treatment at Dr Karishma Aesthetics
“From aging to spots, blemishes, and pigmentation to acne to uneven skin texture, chemical peel treatment helps improve the skin tone, texture, and complexion, giving a healthier glow and revitalizing skin appearance!”
A chemical peel treatment aims to allow healthy skin to grow in its place by removing the dead and damaged skin caused by aging, sunburns, acne, or pigmentation. However, during the procedure of chemical peel treatment the certified cosmetic surgeon/ dermatologist will apply a chemical solution to the affected skin, leading to the peel off dead skin cells without any harsh course of action. A chemical peel is clinically safe, result-centric, and a non-invasive method to rejuvenate the skin and enhance the overall skin profile with improved glow vitality, revealing the more youthful skin underneath.
What does happen during the chemical peel treatment?
Chemical peel treatment, also known as derma peeling or chemexfoliation, is where a customized chemical solution removes the skin layers based on the patient’s skin type and treatment goals. Chemicals such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, trichloroacetic acid, lactic acid, or carbolic acid are employed to treat different skin conditions. The different type of chemicals works on controlled injury factors, each penetrating through to a different skin depth, resulting in peeling off dead/ damaged skin cells and revealing a new, healthier layer of skin. However, the skin concerns like spots, blemishes, pigmentation, and wrinkles, fine lines get improved and you achieve a youthful skin appearance.
Key points to be noted while you are going ahead with the chemical peel treatment:
Chemical peel is an outpatient procedure that can be performed in a clinical setting or doctor’s office.
The results may vary based on the chemical solutions used to treat the condition, highly customized at Dr. Karishma Aesthetics to meet your unique goals.
The choice of chemical solution depends on the treatment goals, plus a patient can work with our certified dermatologist to determine the depth of their peeling treatment.
The different types of chemicals can penetrate different skin depths, causing controlled injuries to peel away the dead skin cells and reveal a new layer of skin.
A chemical peel is usually a safe procedure by a qualified dermatologist/ or a board-certified plastic cosmetic surgeon. The rare post-procedure aftermaths, such as infection, redness, or scarring, can be controllable or almost negligible by choosing the certified expert practitioner.
Three types of chemical peeling treatment are available in the cosmetic treatment world: light (lunchtime) chemical peel, medium chemical peel, and deep chemical peel. Each chemical solution has properties to treat the specific skin condition, requiring a customized treatment plan.
During your introductory consultation, you can ask about the different chemical peels available at Dr. Karishma Aesthetics. Your treatment goals wholly determine the choice of chemical solution.
At Kaesthetics, Bangalore, all types of chemical peels are performed frequently, and you will have an expert hand in treatment, meeting the desired skin goals you want to achieve.
The different chemical solution provides different results. Three types of chemical peels include:
A light (lunchtime) chemical peel: This type of chemical peel solution is the best for patients who have fine lines, wrinkles, acne, uneven skin coloring, or dry, rough, sun-damaged skin concerns. A light chemical peel has little to no downtime, offering faster recovery that may take some hours to a few days. The light chemical peel removes the outermost layer of skin, providing a subtle improvement over time, and is often done in series.
A medium chemical peel: The targeted areas are the outermost layer and the upper part of the middle layer of the skin. A medium chemical peel suits those with moderate skin discoloration, age spots, acne scarring, or visible wrinkles. It gives fresh, youthful-looking skin; the recovery may take a week or more with little downtime.
A deep chemical peel: The deep chemical peels penetrate deeper into the lower middle layer of the skin, providing dramatic improvements with a youthful, radiant, and brightened skin appearance. A deep chemical peel is recommended when a patient is dealing with moderate fine lines and wrinkles, excessive sun-damaged skin, deep acne scars, blotchy skin, and/or precancerous growths called actinic keratosis. It is a one-time treatment plan that applies to your face, including significant downtime.
