I love fashion. It's been one of my favourite hobbies since I was pretty young. The issue is that now, my algorithm is convinced I love nothing more than plastic surgery and makeup with an occasional fashion short if the wind blows the right way??? I mean... Like any other girl, I have my plastic surgery wish list but I think there's a big difference between that and then being at the ripe wrinkled age of 28 and getting a face lift!
Jesus Christ, and they start every video on that shitty ass peach fuzz shaver with "my page is all about empowering women to choose whether or not to shave/wear makeup/get plastic surgery/XYZ" SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP!!!! The whole "oh, so long as it's empowering" has everyone on a chokehold.
I watch a high fashion show? Okay, everyone's shaved and skinny. Sure whatever, it's for a more general audience I get that. I don't respect it but that's not up to me.
Regular old influencer fashion videos? More body diversity sure but at the expense of body hair. You know what? These people have a couple million followers, I can't ask for their livelihood to be put on the line for politics.
An alt DIY video? Makeups on point but you didn't hem anything. Right, it's still fairly general. Less defensible but there's still an argument.
An explicitly punk DIY hack? Why are you shaved? Why is all your hair shaved except your liberty spikes? how do you have time to put on makeup but not enough time to seal your patches. Makeups on fleek but you don't know what it means to wax your pants. How are you gonna call yourself counter culture and then conform to the most basic and prevalent form of oppression? Hell, how are you gonna call yourself a fashion line and then make sure that it's nigh impossible to wear your shit? The oppressors don't give a shit why you're conforming, they care that you're conforming. This is like the most basic idea in every punk or activist space but the second it comes to women? "oh, its just so empowering and cool and awesome and you're a prude for not thinking wearing BDSM to a concert is cool and awesome!" or alternatively, in a high fashion space, "oh, it's just so empowering and cool and awesome and you're a prude for not thinking showing up to the met with a dress strung by your tits is interesting and cool" I'm tweaking y'all.
