OC Kiss Week 2026 Day Seven - Blush

Finishing off with an OC I don't talk about much and one that is pretty central to the plot of our VtM story, Snare the Malkavian ghoul embraced as a Gangrel and Kahanni the Setite! (@crownedinmarigolds) Dividers by @diableriedoll

Snare goes to a party for a quick score to sooth her mind. She didn't expect the host to be so... inviting.

he music is loud, the vibrations traveling up from her feet through her body. She could feel the tingle of the alcohol and drugs spread through her with the current of the song. Her body begins to move and sway as she gives herself over to the sensation and freedom from the anxieties that plagued her. She is about to go out to the party but a voice rips away her secure confidence.

At first she thought the sound came from her meal but, it was still slumped over on the floor. The sound of tut-tutting came from every corner of the room. Panic began to set in, then a hand gently took her from under the chin. The touch was soft and warm. The pointed tips of manicured nails gently poked her cheeks and guided her to a face. She is beautiful. One eye is a golden sun, the other, the earth beneath. Lips full, and inviting. Skin dark and soft. Her smell is sensuous and sweet.

"Who are you?" Her voice honey, and clear as crystal.

"I- I'M… UHHHH. I'M…. Snare." Every sound was getting caught in her throat. She didn't want to speak. She just wanted to let herself melt away in this strangers grasp. "Wh-who are-" Her voice failed her as she stared at the lips of her captor. Drawn to the fangs exposed by the bemused smile.

"I'm Kahanni." Her voice carried an easy confidence that made Snare envious. "I'm the host of this party you flew into little bat."

She knew she should feel fear, she should try to flee, to run. She was just so soothed by the drugs, so intoxicated in the presence of such a beautiful woman. She just didn't want to move. Her cheeks became warm and her heart even began to thump lightly.

Kahanni let out a small laugh. It only made Snare's cheeks feel warmer… was, was she blushing? She didn't will the blood in her body to do so. What was in that body she drank from?

Kahanni leans in closer, her lips tickling Snare's ear as she spoke. "Is it starting to set in?" Snare realized she is leaning down, coming to realize just how tall this beautiful woman is. "It's a special blend a friend of mine makes. It really helps a party, come alive."

Until her lips were pressing to hers. Snare could feel her heart beat heavy, her legs weaken, her face heat up like an inferno. Kahanni's lips are soft and sticky with what was surely not lip gloss. Snare wanted more, she needed more.

"I'll see you around. Little bat."

She vanished. The feeling of her touch, of her kiss, lingered on. Snare felt parts of her body awaken that had been dormant for nearly a decade. She still couldn't bring herself to speak. To call out, begging her to come back. So she stumbled out back to the party, hoping to see the host again.

Questions for Parvati and Khanni: Do either have or use ghouls? If so, how do they treat them?

Ah hi! Thank you for asking! What an interesting question... Parvati and Kahanni certainly have plenty of ghouls that surround them, especially in their high up positions within the internal court of the Followers of Set. Parvati probably does not provide the blood herself to these ghouls, as she is a very old vampire, but she certainly partakes. She is such an ancient creature that I'm not sure she fully registers the ghouls as people, but almost like grapes she can pick off the vine to enjoy. Because she's so old, she has to drink a lot to keep her body in motion, so I imagine her almost constantly grazing on someone - but not for too long or they'll definitely be drained - while around temple. She's also so used to being pampered by the ghouls that they're also just constantly buzzing around her, dressing her, making sure she's content, etc. They're a constant in her existence, and yet they're so low on her radar that it's like flies that cling to a beast. Kahanni is centuries upon centuries younger than her mother, and is very involved with her ghoul posse. She probably has a few permanents in her group, but she probably cycles most of them out eventually, whether due to boredom or to keep them from getting too uppity about being liked by her. While her mother disregards the ghouls and their individuality mostly due to just being so ancient, Kahanni is a bit more self-absorbed in the more common way most young people are. She's a bit more about her own pleasures and fun, and everyone else is kind of a toy she wants to mess with until she inevitably gets sick of it. Kahn likes when they adore her, but it can't be too much because she's not here to commit to anyone. Kahn likes to snack, but she wants to try new flavors and isn't going to pick just one mortal juice box. Kahn knows she has big shoes to fill, and before she takes her throne she wants to have her fun... So - in conclusion they don't treat them GREAT, but they're not tossing them around and ready to eat them at a moment's notice at least! I hope this was a good answer!!

Mine and @thesixthplaneteer's VTM characters from my first drawings of them to some of my latest! Noa, Nyth, Parvati and Harrakhty, Xandy, Kahanni, Joaquin, and Daimund! I think I've improved by miles since the initial conceptualizing, and they've all grown as characters in our world IMMENSELY. Sorry for the long post, was looking up some things for references in my backups and found my old art again. 💖⚰️

Question for you!! You've talked a lot about what Parvati and her husband's faith means to them, but what does Kahn's faith mean to her? Not just with the role she's accepted but as a whole? How does it shape her (un)life?

Ough thank you for such cool questions!!! I've thought a lot about Kahanni...

Kahn has been treated her entire life as a miracle baby and future Messiah, which certainly gives a complex. She is not a vampire like her parents, but she's not human like the kine. We call her a dhampir+ behind the scenes! While they do not tell her exactly how she was made, we know as an audience that she was made as a mixture of all sorts of Kindred magic - Thinblood Alchemy, Necromancy, Setite Sorcery, some Chimerstry even... a flesh golem with a soul. And to her, she just IS what she is. It's mundane to her now but she's aware that she has this great power and responsibility on her shoulders, which grants her both an anxiety and peace when she approaches life. Peace because her path is laid out, anxiety for the occasional "will I be good enough? Is this what I want?" At the moment, she's content, but it waffles! She's still very young both by human and Kindred standards! She was born in Egypt within an old and faithful temple for the Followers of Set, filled with those who still abide by the old ways. Safe from those who think her existence would do them harm. Her father is vehemently against the Ministry rebrand and clings fervently to the traditions, so she was raised learning about Set, his teachings, and of course had a good dose of normal modern tutelage. While being "cut off" from the outside world for a bit over a decade to start with, Harrakhty knows being heavily involved with modern culture is also what attracts more people to their flock. So when she became a preteen she was allowed to be a "normal girl," going to local schools and going to stores and eventually clubs, but with the knowledge that she's *special.* Kahn seems to walk through life with a smirk, letting most things not get to her, because she's the vessel of a God. I don't think she truly understands the enormity of that, and frankly I'm not sure her parents do either when they preach. She knows Set is real, because she is Set. She knows their faith is real because she is the living proof of it. Kahn enjoys many things because she can, because she at least understands in the near future she's going to have to run the planet so she should have her fun while she can. She enjoys love and connection, but she doesn't need anybody. She does have to be secretive about herself because there are plenty out there, even within her own clan, who would want her obliterated, so she's not singing her own praises from the rooftops! But there is definitely something about her when she walks by that screams "she knows she's better than you, she doesn't need you." Of course her being absolutely stunning and over six feet tall probably doesn't discredit that either. She probably enjoys walking around people who don't know her role in the world, it's fun to be a "normie." It's fun to be treated like an equal, because they don't know. It's her fun little secret, but not unlike her father, she kind of can't wait to spring the trap.

Fangfest 2024 - Day Twenty-Two - The World

The World card in Tarot represents achievement, fulfillment, possibilities and happy endings. An ending to a cycle before the next beginning comes where another fool takes a hero's journey. A finale. I drew three complete groups together, enjoying their peace. It may be temporary, but they are all whole units. The Followers of Set - Harrakhty, his wife Parvati, and their daughter Kahanni. The Setites taking pride and true joy with their little godling. Nythanel and Noa, two halves of the same soul that have clawed their way to the top, together - and it will always be so. The Stakebait Coterie, a bunch of Thinbloods who wouldn't have picked this life but now they wouldn't trade each other for the world. Thank you all so much for letting me indulge and draw our characters for the Fangfest! This was so awesome and I was jazzed to do it the whole time! And of course, the biggest thank you to @thesixthplaneteer who contributed inspiration and a lot of the characters to this line up. <3

This is the last thing I wrote, it's part of my outline for OC Kiss week!! Specifically the Heartbreak prompt. So it's a little sad.

There is silence, then she is engulfed in flames, but she remains silent. The the other bodies with her burn, the illusionary figures scream as the illusion itself is engulfed in flame. The heat is intense, then silence, nothing but the ash remains. The spectral figure moves over them and disappears.
