84 and/or 90 for whatever ship your heart desires!
I’m expecting no one to read this since y’all seem to hate my OCs so much and they tend to get 0 or 1 note so like. Whatever ig. Enjoy?
Kai blasted music through her headphones late at night. Technically, she was supposed to be studying for a test, really, she was facetiming Willow while pretending to read. Although laughing and making kissy faces at her phone isn’t the best way to pretend to work.
Well, she thought, Willow has enough brains for the both of us.
“Kai, study! We have a test tomorrow.” Willow groaned.
Kai could tell they were getting tired, but honestly, they were just so cute. They were cute already, but their droopy eyes and slow words made them adorable.
“But Willow,” Kai singsonged. “Studying is no fun.” She pouted to exaggerate her point. Willow laughed, the light brown strands of hair that fell out of their messy bun were framing their face.
“It’s not meant to be fun, silly. It’s meant to be educational.”
“Love, when have I of all people, ever volunteeringly done anything educational?” Kai’s hands flew around her as she talked, like if she talked with her hands then her words would be more logical and less gibberish.
“It won’t be volunteeringly if I force you to study though.” Willow grinned at the camera, twirling their highlighter around sun their fingers.
“Olli,” Kai groaned.
“Kai.” Willow mimicked, making them both laugh.
“You’re not even here, how can you force me to do anything?”
“Who says I have to be there?” Willow narrowed their eyes. “Study, or no kisses or cuddles for a week.”
“Y-you monster! How will I ever survive without your kisses? I won’t make it, I’m not strong enough. Oh no.” Kai gasped dramatically, “I’ve been betrayed! Betrayed I tell you! Betrayed by my own partner!”
Willow laughed quietly.
“If you studied then I wouldn’t have to betray you like this.” They pointed out.
“I’m wounded! Wounded I tell you!” Kai yelled over them. They both dissolved into giggles.
“Who wounded you? Do I even want to know?”
Kai jumped at the unexpected voice, whipping her head around. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the straight black hair with purple highlights. Of course, Carina would show up unannounced at 9 pm on a Friday night.
“Hey, Rina,” Kai said, still laughing from all the dramatics.
“Hi, Carina!” Willow waved excitedly over the phone.
“Hey dipshit, hey Olli.” Carina nodded, before promptly flopping onto Kai’s bed. Carina seemed to spend more time at Kai’s house than her own anyways.
“Willow over here was just forcing me to study,” Kai said, spinning her chair to face Carina and Willow at the same time.
“Hmm?” Carina opened her eyes wide in mock shock. “Olli! How dare you! You know for a fact that we don’t study, can’t believe you would disrespect us like this.”
“Yeah!” Kai agreed just a tad too loud.
Willow laughed, “You guys are ridiculous.”
Cairns and Kai both jumped up at the same time as if rehearsed. To be honest, it was, but they didn’t have to know that. They both dipped into a bow, “Thank you, thank you.”
“We try,” Carina smiled.
“So….” Kai ventured. They both sat back down, Carina burying herself under the mountain of blankets on Kai’s bed.
“So…” Carina mimicked. She gave a pointed look at Kai, before nodding her head slightly at the phone. Kai sighed, turning back to Willow and picking up the phone.
“Give me a second love, say something if you need me, I can hear you.” Kai waiting for Willow to nod before muting herself and facing the camera at the ceiling.
“So.” Kai looked at Carina. Carina stared back, the happiness and joy in the room dropping into seriousness.
“What’s up? I mean, you know I love your company, and you’re welcome here any time. I love you, dad loves you… Just… What’s up? This doesn’t feel like a regular one of your “I’m bored, let’s bug Kai” visit.” She air-quoted the words to emphasize her point.
Carina sighed, rolling onto her back, hands propped up behind her head.
“I just had to get out of the house for a while… Sydney’s there right now, and Caelum’s left for college and Castor was n his room doing some extra credit assignment I think.”
“Who the hell is Sydney?” Kai questioned.
“His girlfriend.”
“Wasn’t he just dating, what was her name, Rebecca?” Carina turned her head to look at Kai.
“Rebecca apparently doesn’t like shrimp.”
Kai winced.
“She’s new?”
“She’s new,” Carina confirmed.
Kai sighed, resting her elbows on her knees.
“Why didn’t you just call me?”
Carina made eye-contact and laughed, loudly.
“I did call you, dipshit. 4 times actually, but your phone was busy. Honestly, after the first call I figured you were probably making kissy faces at Olli, you’re one and only.”
Kai grinned, “Well when you’re dating someone like them, how could you not be making kissy faces all the time?”
“That is true,” Carina laughed. “You know, when I knocked on the door, do you know what your dad said to me?”
Kai shook her head no.
“He said welcome home.” Carina was grinning at the ceiling, unable to keep it off her face. ”It’s kind of weird you know. The concept of home is so foreign to me now. But I suppose that never really was home, this one is much better.”
Kai grinned wider, “I’m happy you found a home here.”
“Yeah, me too. The beds here are comfortable too.”
“You’re not taking my bed.”
“Aww so sad, too bad. It’s mine now.”
“Rina no.”
“What was that? Did you hear something?”
Kai scowled at her, unmuting her phone and fixing the camera angle.
“Olli, Carina is bullying me.” She complained.
“Carina, can I help?”
“Hey!”
