Headcanon that the Kaider kids tease each other by referring to their siblings as “your hind-ass” instead of your highness sometimes
Kai and Cinder’s kids would 10000% pull the prank on Kai where they quiz both parents on things about them, but the catch is that they already told Cinder all the answers beforehand. So it looks like she’s completely acing every question and Kai is like 😟. To make it even more wholesome, he’s the type to answer with specific answers that show he listens and remembers details about them, and he gets sad and surprised when it’s not right (it is right, but they’re lying for his reaction)
“What’s my favourite soda?”
Cinder: “Orange soda”
Kai: “The cream soda float with whipped cream on top and a cherry - but no stem”
“It’s orange soda”
Kai: 😟
“What’s my favourite season?”
Cinder: “Autumn”
Kai: “Spring”
“It’s Autumn”
Kai: “What!☹️ But you said spring was your favourite season because we always go to the cherry blossom festival together”
“…Nah”
It would be adorable if Kai and Cinder let their kids go on the show Old Enough! as toddlers for a special royalty episode. For those who don’t know, it’s this Japanese original program that follows young children (usually 5 and under) as they run errands on their own, with the supervision of a discreet film crew scattered throughout their route.
It’s super adorable and I can imagine their oldest daughter, aged 5 or 6, going out with her little brother, aged 2 or 3, to the market to buy stuff to bring back for their mommy and baby sister. In the end, with some obstacles and a bit of help along the way, they successfully complete their errands and Cinder and Kai and baby sister are very proud of them (although it was mostly big sister’s help).
The program occasionally even does follow up episodes later in the future, so we could also see another episode where their baby sister is now the little brother’s age in the first run, and the three of them go on a sibling adventure running errands
I have a headcanon where one of Kai’s daughters tries and asks him “Hey, Dad? How much money do we have?” And he goes “Wouldn’t you like to know.” And she responds with “Well, yeah. That’s why I asked..?” Sass runs in the family
Oh FS
I would killllll to read of all their conversations. Imagine all the sass, humour, and comebacks they would have
Do u have any kaider parent hc’s?
I headcanon that Kai and Cinder would have three kids (2 girls, 1 boy), and I totally see the two of them having a balanced chill and firm parenting style.
They always have dinner as a family and value having delicious food and bonding together. After all, gathering and sharing food with loved ones is a big part of Asian culture.
They always make sure to tuck their kiddos into bed and tell them how much they love them.
Ever since they were little, their kids always referred to Torin as their grandfather (because in many Asian languages, basically all elders are referred to as grandpa/grandma) to the point where the youngest actually thought he was their biological grandfather, aka Kai’s dad, for a while.
I like to think that their kids would have a lot of fun growing up together in the palace. Giggling and running around the halls and corridors, pranking their imperial majesty parents, touching/ trying on priceless royal jewels and delicate items they probably shouldn’t be playing with, + other fun stuff. Man, I wish I could be one of them, it sounds like so much fun🥀🥀
I feel like Kaider would put their kids into martial arts to have them learn self defence, discipline, and strength training. It’d be so sick if they grew up to be pretty toned and fit as teens. Like imagine the crown princess casually being a black belt with a sleeper build?? They all can and will kick your ass if needed. Don’t mess with them.
I think they’d play other sports too (mjnd you, they’re all tall) and be involved in wealthy-people extracurriculars. I hc their oldest daughter would be into volleyball or tennis at their elite private school. Their son would do either track and field, basketball, or golf? And I think their youngest daughter would be on soccer and dance team.
I imagine them participating in other activities linked to their culture(s), like learning how to wield a katana, brush calligraphy, painting, or poetry. They definitely have some cute messy kid-calligraphy and art hung up around the palace and in Kai and Cinder’s offices.
This turned out to be more kaider kids hcs but you get the idea. I probably have more in my brain so lmk if you want to see ‘em!! Thankss for the ask
I headcanon the kaider kids to be funny and cool, taking after their parents, of course. It goes girl, boy, girl.
First and oldest daughter is the most proper and responsible, being in line for the throne, and thus she’s probably the most publicly known amongst her siblings - although she’s not as public as her dad was at her age (basing this off teens-young adult). Kai and Cinder (but definitely Kai from his experience) prefer it this way because being the constant centre of media attention as a kid is uncomfortable at times. No cereal boxes for her lol. Additionally, Kai and Cinder shielded their children from the public eye for their safety and privacy until they were old enough to consent and decide for themselves. She’s also very beautiful (they all are), especially in the tidy princess way (her hairstyles always eat) so she does still get lots of attention and admirers when she makes appearances, but she usually just shrugs them off. She’s very smart and does fantastic in school, top of her class (she ends up having a degree in something else alongside doing politics). All three of the kaider kids go to private school - the best one in all of Asia - where all the wealthy and elite kids of CEOs and rich people go. And thanks to Cinder and Kai, they remain the most humble of the bunch. She’s a perfect older sister that has Kai and Cinder not needing to worry because they clearly have a strong leader on their hands. She looks out for her younger siblings and family and is not afraid to call them out if she needs to (older sister core). People (mostly those who don’t even personally know the royals) assume that she gets her collected personality from Kai, but the reality is that she gets her diplomatic side from Kai, her calm and (sometimes sarcastic and cool) side comes from Cinder. You see more of a difference when you know her siblings. In the future, she makes a wonderfully strong political leader and taking after her mother’s ability to stand up for what’s right, even if it means speaking out against something
Their son is the middle ground of both his sisters, which is funny considering he is the middle child and looks the most of an equal mix between both parents (both sisters look like mixes as well, but each one looks a little more like one parent). He’s not as proper as his older sister, but also not as wild as his younger sister (but he’s still probably more on the wild and carefree side). He’s in the public a bit as he gets older, but not as much as his older sister. He’s doesn’t care as much for politics like her, but he respects what his family does and knows what rules and specific etiquette he needs to follow, and he will follow them. If they need him at an event in a suit and tie, he’ll be there. He’s very handsome and thus gets a lot of girls looking his way. Takes after Kai in that sense. This is where his less-proper and more chaotic side kicks in. He loves the attention and knows he’s hot stuff. His family all roll their eyes. Uncle Thorne supports him. Contrary to popular belief (or jock assumptions) he’s also good in school (all the kaider kids are smart kiddos), but he isn’t as academically involved as his older sister is. Instead, he’s more into sports - like volleyball, basketball, track and field, etc. As teasing and annoying as he can be, he looks out for his sisters a lot and will gladly yell at or beat anyone up for them if they need (not that he’s allowed to, but yk).
The youngest daughter is the most chaotic, sassy, and funny of her siblings. Essentially a diva. The baby of the family. She is the least politically inclined of her family/siblings (she secretly doesn’t really understand it and thinks it’s just old people arguing), BUT she is still respectful when she needs to be, just mostly with people other than her family (whom she can tease around and bother). She’s the least public in her family when it comes to being a princess. She’s a bit shy about it and doesn’t want to come off as bratty or spoiled. She especially does not want to be known by her parents or as just the princess (“Helloooo, I’m a really cool person too, yk”). When anyone greets her with the princess title, she asks them to just call her by her name (sound familiar?). When they were little kids, she was the last of her siblings for it to click that they were in fact actual princesses and a prince (thanks to the somewhat normal childhood kaider gave their kids). She prefers not to attend as many political and royal events. When she’s seen next to her dad in public, she pulls those hoodie strings DOWN and hides her face from the cameras. She will comfortably take a nap on the sofas in her parents’ offices, snoring away. She will walk around the palace in lounge-wear and pyjamas. She will wake up late and go to sleep late. Basically your average teenager. In terms of style, she’s also less proper and royal-like. While she also wears fancy rich people stuff like Polo sweaters and designer things, her style is more like Ariana Greenblatt’s. Although there is the occasional and rare photo of her with her family on the internet, it’s not enough for the media and public to fully know her and what the youngest princess looks like currently/in the moment.
I can’t get over the fact that Kai’s parents never got to meet Cinder or her and Kai’s children, so I headcanon that they each have an occasional dream where they hug and reconnect with Rikan and Kai’s mother. Even though they didn’t get to physically meet their grandchildren or daughter-in-law, I’m sure they completely adore them from above and exchange their love in the sweetest of dreams. Playing with their grandchildren and reading them stories, all while they’re fast asleep
Cindah would let staff bring kids to the palace + would very much better involved in their lives whenever she could. Like providing money for their education and what not. I like to this she does it out of her personal allowance too.
+ I like to think cinder would live modestly. No fancy shit unless it's for an international ball. Not because she hates it or anything but I think she would feel weird living in luxury when there would still be so many people living in poverty under HER rule yknow. The staff dunno how to handle that but def appreciate it.
YES, YES, AND YES. I love the idea of Cinder and Kai offering to pay for their staff’s educational expenses and tuition, or even their children’s.
I’VE BEEN SAYING THISSS YAS. I strongly head canon that in their own living quarters/their personal section of the palace, their space has a lived-in and home-y atmosphere. Like they have their children’s artwork hung up, on the fridge, random magnets from different destinations, family pictures all across the home.
I think they also make sure to not overly spoil their children. They’re definitely spoiled and extremely fortunate, but not to a bratty and stuck-up extent. There’s this perfect balance of “normalcy” that I see them having. It’s where they let their kids have normal things that any other kid may have, such as colourful clothes (cat hoodies with ears on the hood, unicorn shirts, pants with star patterns on then, silly shirts, etc.), but at the same time they also have more expensive stuff like Ralph Lauren sweaters and what not. Especially as they get older, but it doesn’t stop them from wearing some random t-shirt to bed. Another example would be their toys. I think they’d have stuff like play-dough, shopkins, and other silly things. And in their rooms they’d have lego sets displayed on shelves (see what I mean with the balance. It’s like a “normal” toy, but at the same time it’s definitely more expensive. Like those $1000 sets or something). And there is absolutely no beige-mom vibes in this home, no, they have pink plastic stepping stools in the kids’ bathrooms, animal towels with the hoods attached, fun coloured toothbrushes with cute toothbrush holders. And fun toothpaste that we all had as kids with cartoons on them. But at the same time, they do have wealthier aspects in their home (palace) than the ‘average’ person. Like they’d have the fancied appliances, like multiple ovens or some shit, fancy ass bathroom layouts, and their version of the google home in every room. So it’s like yes they’re rich asf, but also they’re just like us in many ways.
Also I think it’d be cute if their kids ask Kai for something, but when he says no, they look at him with puppy eyes and go “but mommy said I can🥺” because Cinder wants to give them everything she didn’t have growing up, but sometimes she goes overboard.
Okay wow this turned into a dissection of their living space sorry about that. But THANK YOU FOR THE ASK ALSE🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 always a lovely ask from u
