I like Kai and Hilary way better than Tyson and Hilary don't you agree
Absolutely. KaiHil is way better than TyHil. I dislike TyHil because they don’t suit each other at all. Nice to know you ship KaiHil too.

What is your favourite Beyblade pairing and why?
My OTP for the first Beyblade series is KaiHil. RayMar comes in at a close second but I like Kai x Hilary more. Their relationship is that of mutual respect at the start after Hilary stops being suspicious of Kai and once he decides to give her training routine a go. The bond between them evolves subtly but substantially over the course of the second season and that is one of the reasons I ship them so much.
Plus, he saves her several times during V-force; two examples are him shielding her from tumbling rocks on the island they are trapped on and being the first to grab her hand when she trips and falls over a cliff edge as Ray battles the Bit Beast Kraken.
She, in her own way, returns the favour. One such example is how she is the only one who goes and finds him to find out how he is coping with the loss of Dranzer. This is significant because the rest of their team-mates are far more concerned with becoming stronger in order to get his Bit Beast back and are not worried about how he could be feeling, unlike her. If not for Hilary, Kai would have quit the team there and then and not been a Beyblader anymore. It is thanks to her that he is still part of the Bladebreakers and remains a Blader at the beginning of G-revolution. She helps restore his resolve and rekindles the hope that Dranzer will return to him. He listens to what she tells him and acts on those words; that fact alone speaks volumes.
Kai had not told anyone what was wrong before Hilary came to see him, yet she had known how upset and angry he had to be deep down. This suggests she knows him very well, perhaps even better than his other friends in a way; she says it is not like him to give up and implies that she has never once seen him as a cold-hearted person.
His defeat had shaken her to the core too, as shown by her shocked expression when he lost to his opponent and watched Dranzer be taken from him. She had been worried sick about him the whole match, indicating the extent to which she cares about his well-being. Despite being profoundly affected by witnessing him get beaten so ruthlessly, she steeled her resolve along with Kenny and supervised the other three boys’ training. It is this which allows her to be strong for Kai and to call him out on his pessimistic outlook when she discovers how resigned he is.
No other team-mate has stood up to him like that before or since. Hilary’s immense, unshakeable faith in him, her profound respect for his abilties and him as a person is as well as her underlying, potential romantic feelings are implied in her speech to him and can be extrapolated from her wording and her tone in that scene. Kai takes in what she says during that moment, despite not showing any outward indication of that until later. He lets her in before this, taking the liberty of explaining that he has decided stop Blading forever. He could have stayed silent as he walked away but he decides to confide in her, if only briefly. Despite giving her the cold shoulder once he informs her of this, he obeys when she requests for him to wait and does not resume walking until she has said most of her piece, although he is still listening to her as he does so. Unbeknown to Hilary, Kai’s expression turns to one of surprise during her monologue, showing that she has indeed got through to him and this is further reinforced by the conviction on his face as he heads toward the stadium to whip Tyson back into shape.
Tyson is feeling down in the dumps too at this time but he is not the one Hilary goes to first. Kai is the person she knocks out of his doldrums and this says a lot. She could have chosen to find Tyson before going to see Kai but she did not. Kai snaps Tyson out of his funk; something he would not have done had Hilary not helped him realise that all was not lost.
Although the majority of their development as a couple occurred during V-force, there were some subtle hints of further development in G-revolution. Hilary and Kai stand or sit close to each other quite a bit in the second season and this continues in the third season, with the two doing so in the first couple of episodes while the Bladebreakers are still together. After the team disbands, the other moments are on Hilary's part mostly, shown through her support of Kai's battles and how worried she is for him during the World Championships. He is the one she is concerned about the most, even though she worries about all of the former Bladebreakers.
A prime example of Hilary's immense concern and how much he affects her is when Kai battles against Daichi. Hilary suspects that he has lost the drive to win due to how inactive he is and his nonchalance makes it seem like he is simply waiting for his blade to be knocked out of the stadium, as he does not retalitate much if at all and this deeply concerns her. She is the only one to spot it and Tyson does not realise something is amiss until she tells him, looking close to tears. This indicates how attuned Hilary is to Kai's feelings, even if he does not show them overtly. His happiness is hers and vice versa. Tyson has been his friend longer, yet does not pick up on how conflicted Kai is over where his loyalties lie and about Max and Ray's absences. As such, this suggests that Hilary and Kai's bond is of a different nature to the ones share with everybody else and in some respects, runs deeper.

Open - A story set during and after G-revolution about Kai and Hilary's relationship. I tried to make the development of their dynamic fit around the events following Kai's battle against Brooklyn to make it more plausible and realistic. This is how I reckon the bond between them may have evolved, since it was not covered or hinted as much in the third season. I use canon evidence in the story. Please note Tala x Julia is mentioned once. Rated K+. Multi-chapter. Complete.
Summary: Kai is severely injured after defeating Brooklyn and collapses in a corridor shortly after leaving the arena. Hilary finds him later on. All she wants is for him to accept what she tells him when the time comes. Will he open up to her?
