❛ I appreciate your concern my friend. But I can fight for myself remember? ❜ It was a light jab, no intent of insulting him in anyway. Cecil did wish to stand up for himself though. In his position, there was often extra eyes on him causing more pressure on himself. Even if not in the eyes of other royals, he felt an obligation for his people. For everyone. It was truly one of his flaws, his overly kindhearted nature.
His gaze a bit more serious, making sure Kain understand his point. ❛ If someone asks for my help, then I will give it. Rydia knew she would have received that attack right on her face if Kain hadn’t protected her. He had even finished the monster quite easily. She didn’t know why he had done this, though. He was so hard to read. Cecil and Rosa TRUSTED him, but he still had betrayed them before, more than once. When they fought side by side, though, they truly seemed to be a team.
“You know, I would have managed without your help.” It wasn’t entirely true, but she would never admit such a thing out loud. “Thank you, though.”

Rydia gently shook her head. She understood how Kain could feel, at least somehow. He had almost betrayed his friends, more than once. He had been influenced and manipulated while doing so, but he still had done this. She wasn’t sure she would have managed to forgive herself, if she had been the one betraying the others.
But Kain wasn’t bad. Cecil and Rosa still cared for him, still TRUSTED him, so Rydia knew she should do the same. “I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t ask yourself these questions if you weren’t good enough.” She admitted, offering him a soft smirk.
