I feel like if Kai survived the first main game him and Shin/Keiji would knock keisou out of the park with the homoerotic rivalry

Kai is like Keiji but with his hsit together. He tries to be a mentor to Sara (and he is better than average at it which is godly by yttd standards), he doesn’t consider himself a good person but doesn’t let that stop him from helping others, he tried and failed to get Shin killed in a main game (but got Nao to whack him with a frying pan, which was really funny so I feel like he deserves points for that).

And a more competent version of Keiji is
