Kaivopuisto Airshow by Avanaut http://flic.kr/p/VG7Pnp Last friday there was a big airshow in Kaivopuisto, Helsinki. You know, a classic airshow with fighter jets and assorted machinery over a 100k spectator crowd. There hasn't been a show like that on that location since 1970! The Red Arrows made a pretty amazing appearance, some beautiful old jets showed how it is done, like the shiny duo of Fouga Magisters gracefully in a very tight formation, I like those. My favourite was this old Corellian YT-1800 variant, no loops or smoke trails, just an elegant low altitude pass. It was a very nice summer evening by the sea. Edit: After posting I realized this idea is really close to Bill George's SciFi Airshow. Didn't think about that. Oh well, I liked the airplanes, the old ones in particular.
