Kai came home that morning after not coming home things had been tough since they found out they were going to have another baby. Kai had gotten fired from the department after standing with a fellow officer that had to use lethal force in order to protect himself for an armed man. Kai, the officer and anyone else who sided with these actions were fired on the spot, because the station wanted to keep media trouble down even though what had happened was completely legal and necessary, it was getting hard and scary for cops to do their jobs without being called senseless killers. Kai came home to MJ and he was afraid she’d be disappointed in him, but for once in Kai’s life he was doing his job and standing up for what he believed in and he lost his job for it. ‘Hey.’ He says low to her. ‘ How was work?’
