when I got diagnosed I was like "where the fuck did I get this from" and then later that same year we went out to visit my maternal grandpa for Christmas and I realized "wait a minute...everyone's grandpa probably DOESN'T have their entire house filled with train books and railroad maps and train figurines and retro train advertisements and train art and train regalia and an entire room dedicated to a homemade model train track, do they?" because I just thought it was normal growing up.
(and then as my mom finally started to get on antidepressants and come out of her shell and get excited about things, all the things she was excited about were crochet patterns and 1000 piece puzzles and the fucking public transportation routes in our city. but that's less funny than the trains thing)
Families that are autistic be like "this is normal dont worry about it" and then its not actually normal
