OKAY SO THIS MIGHT NOT BE WHAT YOU WERE ASKING FOR but I’ve never been good at HCs and I huh basically let my fingers type so bear with me… I spent too much time on this….. Anyway… Thanks for asking!!!!
When Heath arrives at the camp he doesn’t expect or want to make friends, he needs time to let himself trust people again and he doesn’t want to get attached, he makes that clear. Heath’s attitude doesn’t stop Legault tho, he joined the team not that long ago so thinks it’d be easier for him to befriend someone new. It isn’t that he looks for friends either, he just misses what he had with the Black Fang, he misses his friends, he misses the banter….But Legault is smart and perceptive, doesn’t need to be around him too much to notice Heath’s situation might not be too different from his, so he does his best to distract Heath from his thoughts and take up his time (he always knows when it’s enough tho).And even if Heath doesn’t want to admit it he knows all the time with Legault actually helps him keep his mind off things, whether he is or isn’t there… In the end Heath finds himself waiting for the other to show up so they can spend time together.Heath has made other acquitances in the camp but Legault is the best at making him forget about stuff, perhaps cause he’s gone through something similar (or so he thinks from the info he’s gathered about him) and therefore it’s easier for him to understand.Legault isn’t surprised to see he too craves these meetings they both have, the time he spends alone isn’t good for him either. He realizes he needs Heath just as much as he needs him.Heath is the first to open up as he is comfortable enough to do so by now. Legault takes more time… he’s afraid Heath would change the way he sees him once he starts talking, but in the end his opinion doesn’t change… Heath isn’t like that.Legault realizes he’s fallen for the other first, for how long, he can’t tell, but he’s never been more sure of something. He’s had more partners in the past but given how it all has gone… he’s not willing to risk it this time, not with Heath. Heath takes longer to admit he likes the thief, he’s never felt something like that so he’s pretty baffled. When he’s finally able to put a name to the feeling and accepts it, he decides to act quickly, as he notices he’s not exactly subtle about it.Heath is nervous wreck when he confesses and Legault, who had basically given up on this kind of takes it as a joke. They’ll remember it as the least romantic way for two people to start dating. Perhaps that’s why it works so well.At first it’s awkward… but after a while (and some talking) things go back to normal, after all it’s not that much different than being friends…. it just has its own benefits.Heath accepts Legault’s offer to go with him when the war ends, they start working as mercenaries, looking for old Black Fang members to help them. Once Legault is comfortable enough to settle down they find themselves a nice house in the countryside, they work on the land and do small favors to everyone in town, earning enough money to live on.ALSO DYING TOGETHER WHEN THEY ARE OLD AND HAVE LIVED A LIFE FULL OF NICE STUFF, ALL THE NICE THINGS THEY DESERVE CAUSE I LIKE ANGST BUT BOI DO I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS
And… I forgot about Hyperion………… I’ll talk about him next time (i’m SORRY)
