Carnival... pastries... flowers... bunnies...
There were just too many options to choose from! Kinam whined softly as he held each box in his hands, examining each one carefully. They were wrapped delicately with a ribbon to match the color of the envelopes inside. Stationary sets were something he’s recently gotten into, they were cute and he’s seen enough inspiration photos online to know he wants some. But this was no easy feat. No. In fact, this may be the most difficult choice he’s had to make since he donned a ridiculous outfit and stepped out the front door of the Ishikawa building.
It had been some time since then. Kinam stepping outside on his own accord. His first very obvious show of defiance. Yet, at the time, he had no idea that he was breaking the norm. Had no idea that he shouldn’t even be having ideas. It was a rather scary time, and Kinam doesn’t like to think on it too much for fear that he’ll begin longing for the spotlight. He can’t do that. Not now when he’s trying to make a new life for himself... and as scary as it is, he needs to learn to let go.
Nibbling his bottom lip, Kinam decides he can’t simply pick just one stationary set. So he nods to himself, assuring that this decision was the most justified. He’ll just take all four of them. The more the merrier! He could write as many love letters as he wanted. Kiss as many envelopes as he pleased before slipping them under the doors of those he cared for. Cover as many surfaces in puffy stickers as he wished.
Feeling utterly satisfied with his decision, Kinam practically prances to the check out. A smile beaming wide on his face as he greets the person behind the counter, chatting happily about the variety of stationary sets in the store’s inventory. After the cashier scans the four boxes and reads aloud Kinam’s total, the smaller pauses and tilts his head in confusion.
No one has ever charged him for anything before. He’s never had to pay for anything. People usually just... well, just gave things to him. Why is this time different? He’s not quite sure what to do... so he smiles shyly at the cashier (who seems to be growing impatient by the minute the longer Kinam stalls) and bats his eyes softly, resorting to using his idolish charms. The android puts in the extra effort by fiddling with his fingers and softly chewing on his rosy pink bottom lip, opening his mouth and speaking in such a sweet voice that honey should be dripping from every syllable.
“Um, I’m sorry. I think there’s been a mistake? See, I don’t have any money... but, I really do need those stationary boxes. Is there any chance you could just... give them to me? Please?”
The cashier’s face drops like a heavy boulder, glaring at the android for even having the guts to ask such an absurd question and putting on an even more ridiculous show. Kinam squeaks in fear and panics. Why was this happening? He was such a nice android! Everyone is so mean!
