okayyy you asked ab joyce so i’m here to ask about jonathan :3 what does his post-canon life look like to you? it could be 10 years post vecna/mind flayer/hawkins or 20 years just whatever u think he does afterwards

... Ahem sorry serious answer time, ok so ideally I would love NYU/NYC to still be in the cards for him Boston is fine I guess (not like one of the few things we've seen him want is NYU)

We know from the questionably canon yearbook that ideally he wants to be a Rock photojournalist, So personally I'd love to see him major in photography I also love the idea of him minoring in English Lit because it's such a pretentious boy hobby. In College, I can see him hosting some little program on the student radio and I do think he gets more friends just because he's not in Hawkins. (i'm also sending his ass to therapy)

I think a lot of his twenties in NYC is spent working more odd jobs like bar tender, record store employee, probably a dog walker at some point. I think his first BIG BREAK is the Village Voice because that feels right. Personally, I think he loves it but it's very little money so he takes a job at a big newspaper for better pay which he ends up HATING but he's trying to be noble and sensible about life until Will and Nancy are like my guy you're MISERABLE (she's there too because of course she is, I think they have a very small wedding in a park shortly after college graduation simply because they want to be married)

So he quits his job, has a quarter life crisis, until he finally lands a job at Rolling Stone which initially is a lot of traveling but like he's so much happier. Personally, I don't think he & Nancy have kids until they're in their late twenties (1997 to be specific) and I tend to go with just two girls (Jordan & Dylan) (I have been known to think about them having an oopsie baby boy named Liam 13 years after their oldest but that's a secret mousekatool) I think he's terrified of being a dad at first (part of why they wait so long) but is like a duck to water which like duh. He's doing drop-offs, he's fighting with PTA moms, he's in charge of team snack for the brief stint that his youngest in on the soccer team.

I personally don't think they ever leave NYC until their like retirement age and then buy a house on like Long Island or something.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH @maybeanalienwhoknows is so fantastic at leaving ao3 comments and something they said just now made me SOOOO GRGRGHDSJDJJJDSJHSJHD about KAGAMI and his stupid awful attachment style.

ok. so daiki comes from a secure familial background. he has never doubted that his parents love him, he is reminded that they do constantly, and he does not believe that he has to do anything special in order to earn their love. daiki believes that they would love him even if he wasn't a basketball prodigy, or if he went pro, or whatever. they love him conditionally. therefore, he's immature about responsibilities and regularly acts up around the people he loves. he ditches people, he shirks chores, and he genuinely does not care about annoying or bothering people.

taiga comes from a household where everything is numerical. his dad's involvement in school was always through report cards and occasional parent/teacher meetings. he never knew taiga's favourite classes, he never realised what his favourite hobbies are. once he realises that basketball is distracting him from study, he accepts a contract in japan and fixes to move there. when that contract falls through, he tells taiga to go and live there. by himself. to be away from basketball. his one, favourite thing. but growing up, taiga found that he'd get the best positive attention from his father when he was quiet, and sat still, and didn't talk during those awful work parties he would get dragged to. taiga learned to do what he was told to win approval.

the way this translates from familial love, to the romantic kind, is in love as a perishable item.

especially as they're just teenagers in love, daiki's understanding of love and relationships is pretty literal. he knows taiga wouldn't do anything that he didn't want to, or if he did, that taiga would be accidentally very obvious that he didn't want to do it. he wouldn't kiss him if he didn't want to, for instance, because that's usually spur of the moment and catches daiki off-guard. taiga cannot lie about how he feels. daiki can tell that he's secured his affections. so he trusts that they'll remain.

taiga, on the other hand, has been raised to believe that he is loveable for as long as he is useful. for as long as he's serving a purpose. he has said, in canon, that his life is no more important than a cheeseburger's, and I KNOW it was a gag, but i don't care. daiki never said that. kise never said that seirin reacted in shock and horror at the thought of it! anyway, taiga cannot believe that someone as unimportant as himself would be able to leave a mark that mattered. he is determined to shake the pro basketball world, but in terms of relationships and friendships, he is a come and go kind of guy. like when he doesn't say goodbye to seirin before just LEAVING before the winter cup. that was insane. he just... didn't say anything to them.

daiki, coming from a secure and loving background, is more inclined to take people at their word in relationships. he's literal. taiga will say "i think we'll be with each other when we're old," and "i love you sooo much, you big stupid idiot," and daiki is like. yeah. done deal. obviously that's happening.

whereas taiga can say all of that, mean it, but the second that something else happens that requires him to focus (like joining the nba), he can detach himself. oh, it'll hurt, but he thinks that it's a hurt that he alone will have to shoulder. he cannot imagine meaning enough to someone that he could ever break anyone's heart. like daiki's. also this fucking GUY keeps breaking daiki's heart afterward, too, by being way too casual and wanting to be friends and UGH i hate him for this. it's seriously shitty, and he doesn't mean to do it. it's the same vein as his dad calling him at 2am japan time, and then not hanging up when taiga says he's sleepy. i'm serious. it's definitely something that i can see him working through if he went to therapy but HAHAHAJSHDJHSDJH DO YOU REALLY THINK TAIGA IS DOING THAT?? LMFAOOOOOOO

Batkids - Evolution Board

Here comes how I headcanon the Batkids’ legacy (centering on the main Batfamily, I’ll make an extended version afterwards if you want ^^) through the ages and the titles they wear, first in canon then into their future!

Starring the team by oldest to youngest instead of by appearance :)

1) Barbara Gordon

Batgirl > Oracle > Mayor of Gotham

- Batgirl (at 18 when she makes her own path into vigilantism then teams-up with the orginal Dynamic Duo). - Oracle (after the Joker shot her while, as an adult in her early thirties, she distanced from vigilantism and was wearing her Batgirl uniform only occasionally). - Mayor of Gotham (she gives her ‘Oracle’ title to a reformed Edward Nygma who fully joined the Batfamily and dedicates herself to politics the official way since then, until her election as the new Mayor).

2) Dick Grayson

Robin > Nightwing > Batman > Nightwing > Retired

- Robin (at 11 after Bruce took him under his wing). - Nightwing (the disco suit version at 18 after he quit, then the black and blue classical one after Barbara became Oracle). - Batman (during the transition period over which Bruce was presumed dead). - Nightwing (after Bruce returned). - Retired (after Barbara and him married and he decided to fully dedicate himself to being a husband, a father and Babs’ main support over her political campaign).

3) Jason Todd

Robin > League of Assassins soldier > Red Hood

- Robin (at 10 after Bruce took him in and up to 16 when he was murdered by the Joker). - League of Assassins soldier (up to his early twenties when he lived with Talia al Ghul and followed her training). - Red Hood (first a villain when he returns to Gotham, then an antihero who progressively grows closer to the Batfamily. He keeps his Red Hood title up to his old days).

4) Cassandra Cain

Batgirl > Black Bat > Batman

- Batgirl (at 16 when she arrives in Gotham and after Barbara then Bruce and Tim took her in and considered her a true ally then a family member - she keeps her title until she gives it to Stephanie when thinking Bruce has died and she doesn’t want to fight for him anymore). - Black Bat (once she returns to Gotham after living a couple years in Hong Kong away from the bats-and-birds). - Batman (when Bruce solemnly hands over to her his cape and cowl, he chooses her as his rightful heir).

5) Tim Drake

Robin > Red Robin > Phoenix > Dark Phoenix

- Robin (at 13 after he stalked Bruce and until they cross paths, less than six months after Jason’s death). - Red Robin (after he was forced to quit for a short period when his father found out about his activities and after Stephanie’s death, he couldn’t take back his old costume so he upgraded his outfit and his name along the way). - Phoenix (over his mid-twenties when he decided to make a name for himself and take a chance into the ‘other side’ of the fight). - Dark Phoenix (a nickname given by the press he ended up adopting after his team and him killed the next generation of Batman and Superman, aka Cassandra and Kon-El, what signed his definitive tipping point).

6) Stephanie Brown

Spoiler > Robin > Spoiler > Batgirl > Nightwing > Batman

- Spoiler (at 13 to frame her dad and spoil his plans before she bonded with Robin!Tim ; she takes nearly eight months off the Game to handle her pregnancy at 15 and its aftermath, needing time to recover after putting her baby up to adoption, then resumes the fight and meets Batgirl!Cassandra plus Oracle!Barbara). - Robin (at 17 when Bruce finally takes her in). - Spoiler (after Bruce fires her, leading to her ‘death’ and her spending nearly two years far from Gotham, in Kenya to recover with Leslie Thompkins. She returns at 19 wearing her original alias). - Batgirl (at 19 when Cassandra abandons the title and she takes up the mantle for ten years to come). - Nightwing (at 31, after two years off the the game to welcome her daughter Taylor ; she passed the Batgirl mantle to her apprentice Nell Little during her pregnancy). - Batman (the one she never wanted to take up, but endorsed after Cassandra’s death to carry on the legacy).

Robin > Angel > Nightwing

- Robin (at 10 when he arrives in Gotham and meets his father, then forms a Dynamic Duo with him and with Dick during the transition period Bruce is out). - Angel (at 20, he gives the Robin title to Carrie Kelley the same time Steph gives the Batgirl mantle to Nell Little). - Nightwing (when Stephanie becomes Batman).

Over that time, Dany had grown closer to her quiet knight and his sister, though still knew very little of their past. She trusted that, in time, Ravus would open up to her as his trust grew.

No sooner had the remaining Great Houses declared loyalty to Daenerys than a white raven had arrived bearing horrific news from the North. On its heels came a flurry of ravens from the Citadel. The old Maesters were more interested in pressing Dany to marry (so they could back a King and restrict her) than any threat from beyond the Wall, but two priestesses of R'hllor arrived to court singing a song of prophecy instead.

Two days ago, Dany and Ravus had flown along the Wall - for Drogon would not cross it - seeing for themselves the horrors beyond. This night, they took their rest at a sleepy inn and he surprised her with his declaration. Steam rose from the large copper tub enticingly. Shrugging off her cloak, Dany smiled as she began unbuttoning her tunic dress. “That sounds delightful, but you should join me. This bitter cold is unnatural - you should warm yourself lest you catch cold, Ravus.”
