Shibuya station was abnormally crowded today. Large crowds remained huddled around the entrances to the many stations that connected the shopping district to the neighboring areas. Of course today, of all days, he would choose to oversleep his alarm, even with Morgana staying with him. At Shujin academy, he already had a hard enough time keeping unwanted attention off him, especially with the rumor of his delinquency spreading, and certainly being late would not help his already tarnished image.
Letting out a soft sigh, he pushed through the crowds, none seemed to be members of his high school at least. All Ren could do now was pray that he could immediately board a train without waiting an unnecessary length of time. After all, time was not on his side at the moment. It was almost a given that if Sojiro received a call about his tardiness he would be in hot water, not to mention the risk of his first tardy would come to light, being almost half a day late to school was inexcusable.
Catching his breath, he paused in front of his stop. The grinding brakes of the train echoed like sirens amidst the clamoring of the passengers. A sudden feeling crept up his back, a sense of familiarity reigned heavy in the boisterous atmosphere. Lifting his head, he cast a quick glance around the station only for stormy hues to fall upon a high schooler who was roughly the same age as him. Ren could tell by his solid black uniform he was not from Shujin; however, there was something about him that caught Ren’s eye. Finding himself staring for just a moment, he quickly tried to break contact, fixing his glasses upon his face and entering the train as the metallic doors slid open.
“Strange... I feel as though we met before.”
