haiii kalabean! i personally like your masterlist, it's very clear and concise! to answer your question, it takes a long time and it's so funny you sent me this ask RIGHT before i was about to redo my masterlist (i just finished, it took me like two hours).
it depends on if i have a vision or not. like for my kinktober masterlist, it took me a long time to find a template i liked although i knew exactly what i was going for. i do all my editing and formatting on my laptop, which makes it ten times easier. i look for resources like fonts, symbols, and layouts (all here on tumblr), and i just tinker until i think it's pretty <3
