The thing that makes it extremely transparent to me that Kale hasn't changed is this:
We all have done something in the past we regret - some harmful behavior we used to do before and actively work to not do in the present, because we know better now.
Think about what yours is. Think about how you would respond if someone made it clear you might be backsliding and falling back to old behavior that could hurt people.
I don't know about you, but my immediate gut response would be horror followed by some intense self reflection. Probably also some hypervigilance of my own behavior to ensure I was course correcting. It wouldn't be denial.
It definitely wouldn't be whatever the hell Kale is doing right now.
A letter with a wax seal of a Lotus in a emblem would be found on the desk of Kale Aideron.
This letter is in regards to the missing Kegashiyo Thoth, from the medical ward at The Scarlet Bloom.
Kegashiyo was found returning to our company hall by two of our members yesterday night. He was pretty heavily injured and in a state of exhaustion.
He was in a state of shock and confusion when he was able to make his way to the company medical ward. During the night one of our healers saw to him and made sure he was stable. After some talks, he was able to get some sense of what happened however it is currently still a bit of a foggy time for him. He is currently resting and in our care, perfectly safe.
We were able to discern that he likely spent the entire time after the ambush, which he is uncertain of how long it was, hiding and fleeing from pursuers.
We are aware that the Adders reported him as MIA, and we have made sure that they knew that he was found. If any of your regiment wishes to check in on him, they may do so at a later time if he has rested properly.
If you have any questions regarding Kegashiyo, you are welcome to ask.
Some more of my screenshots from the Rhalgr’s Beacon event that took place last night! (main post here, including 5 of my other screenshots) HUGE thank you to everyone I got to roleplay with - but especially Kale Aideron for organising, and Defiant Bride for getting me involved in the first place.
Continuity-wise I’m going to have to bubble this, because there’s a number of events run by other people and set earlier in the MSQ that I still want to attend. But I’m pretty happy with how Aghurlal’s involvement turned out, so I think when the time comes to canonise the MSQ finale into his timeline, this will be the version of events that I use.

Dutiful Sister of the Edelweiss “Fury” had been lending his assistance to the war effort in Gyr Abania for several weeks now - serving the multiple purposes of providing sniper-like assistance and reconnaissance during battle, lending a deft hand and a passing familiarity with the workings of modern magitek, and reporting back on events to the leaders of his “convent” in Limsa Lominsa.
While initially uncertain of his role in heavy warfare such as the taking of a city, he quickly settled into his secondary mode of operation - bodyguarding. Defending the healer Solaire Stark from harm while his mixed unit of adventurers and Resistance fighters made their way through the city, Fury sustained burns to his back, but pressed onwards.
Only once they were lured into a killbox in an alleyway did his role become clear. While the unit’s leader, Orrin de Halgren, drew the sniperfire away from the main unit, Fury scaled the building and began cutting his way across the rooftops like a true swashbuckler of Limsa Lominsa.
The rooftop cleared, he turned to see if he could spy any other sniper postings from his position, when all of a sudden the sky... changed. A terrible pain gripped Fury’s head, and no sooner had he turned his gaze skyward to see what was happening than a piece of fallen masonry - dislodged by the flight of some terrible, massive beast - struck him from behind. As he fell from the rooftop, he caught a glimpse of the terrible creature... turning just in time to break his fall.
Pain coursing through him, he could barely cling to consciousness. He knew not how long he lay there for - only that he had the strangest dream... that a group of Garlean soldiers had happened upon him. (Were they retreating? Had the Alliance won?) They had kicked him, debated taking him prisoner... when suddenly one of them had forced a potion down his throat. In his dream-like state, he could hardly open his eyes, let alone murmur a thanks - but just as quickly as they appeared, they were gone. Perhaps he had imagined the whole thing..?
It felt like hours. Distant explosions and the sounds of shouting, though, were eventually replaced with something else... song. He didn’t recognise the tune, nor the words - but somehow he knew what they meant.
Victory. Liberty.
They had won..? Lying alone in the rubble, gazing at the clearing sky, Sister Fury wondered if he was going to die here. Liberty... in death...
Then all at once, a familiar voice had piped up. Rinh Paniphar. A Maelstrom soldier who he’d become acquainted with in previous expeditions, both in Gyr Abania and Vylbrand. She’d come to look for him... someone had sent up a flare, though Fury knew not who. (The Garleans he dreamt of..? Couldn’t be.) Through his addled thoughts, he was able to communicate his gratefulness.
Together, Rinh and Fury limped back towards the rapidly burgeoning infirmary - wondering if the victory and the morrow would grant them even just a moment of respite.

It is also important to note, that this log has been heavily revised. These journals are told from the perspective of my character, and therefore most others scenes have been cut. There is also one redacted player from the log.
Hestia and I arrived at Camp Blugfog relatively early for the event. Having fitted myself in Temple Knight gear, I was anticipating the reactions of the brothers and my husband. It would be the first time any of them have ever seen me dawn the gear. While not exactly uncomfortable, it is certainly not as personal as my Beastmaster garb. Staring out past the camp, I felt the fear of the Garlean threat gnaw at me. The location, tense at most… or maybe those were pre-battle nerves talking?
Due to the length of the log, it has been put onto Pastebin here.
Having returned home earlier to speak with Claire some after putting Hestia to bed, Armont joined home shortly. The woman shared her idea’s with us on a brooch heirloom designed specifically for the House. While she left me with excitement over this gift, Armont instead had other thoughts clouding his mind…
Please remember that the people responsible for the situation regarding Kale and G&G’s enabling of him were leadership figures - not members.
Be kind to people. They likely did not know and were kept in the dark.
