Kaleidoscope Spotlight: Erickson Beamon's Prism Earrings
When selecting our five Kaleidoscope Collection designers, Erickson Beamon, with their signature flair for the dramatic, was a no-brainer. This sensibility seamlessly carried over to our exclusive Prism Earrings, resulting in the ideal statement drops for any evening look. Inspired by a colorful, rhinestone-embellished mask by the designer, the earrings feature large cobalt blue pear-shaped stones surrounded by a spectrum of vibrant Swarovski crystals.
The Prism Earrings also had the honor of debuting the collection in the May 2014 issue of InStyle, appearing in magazine's "what's NOW!" column in an article aptly titled "Reach for a Rainbow." Below, read our interview with Erickson Beamon designer Karen Erickson to learn more about how these stunners came to be.
Karen, in your own words, describe the visual & emotional experiences of looking through a kaleidoscope.
To me, a kaleidoscope is our opportunity to transcend the mundane reality of the day-to-day.

In designing for our Kaleidoscope Collection, you were asked to draw inspiration from the visions seen when looking through a kaleidoscope. Which elements of kaleidoscopic imagery did you attempt to capture in this piece?
We never attempt we always succeed! Our kaleidoscope-inspired earrings are a literal prism of color that one would see when gazing through a kaleidoscope.
Describe the construction & materials used to create your Kaleidoscope Collection earrings.
The kaleidoscope earrings utilized our signature materials: hand-painted Swarovski crystals and 24k gold vermeil.

How do you find that colorful jewelry affects the wearer?
Color is medicinal. What better way to change your attitude and outlook on life than looking at or wearing color. I believe that color is nature's anti-depressant.
