😭- Abel wasn't the best at giving comfort. Even with his unassuming mask, deep down, he just wasn't the cuddly guy. That didn't mean he wouldn't sit there to let someone cry on him if needed. Hell, he wouldn't say a word about it. He wouldn't tease, mock, or tell a soul about it. This was just his odd way of giving back to the gang that took him in. - to whoever you can think of lol a good mind worker
“Hey, are you alright?” Abel asked as he watched Felix pace around the room.
“Huh?” Felix snapped his head towards the other, before averting his gaze quickly. He ran a hand through his hair and let out a heavy sigh. “Yeah… yeah, I’m fine.”
It had been a hard night for the both of them. One of those days where they wanted to collapse in bed and sleep for a week afterwards. Except, they couldn’t do that. Or, at least, Felix couldn’t. Not when Maseru got horribly injured on this mission.
They were all safe now; they managed to get back to base and find some potions that could help heal Maseru slowly. Still, Felix couldn’t relax. It was his fault that Maseru got hurt like that. He should’ve been more careful, protected the other better. And yet, he didn’t.
“Fuck, it’s all my fault…” Felix let out a shaky sigh as he covered his face with his hands. Something worse could’ve happened tonight, and he wouldn’t have been smart enough to stop it. “Stupid… so fucking stupid…”
Abel’s eyes widened slightly as he saw how weak Felix looked. The man truly did care about each other the team’s wellbeing, so much so that it ate him up inside. Abel didn’t know what to do, besides walking up to Felix and putting a hand on his shoulder. “It’s not your fault, Felix. You did your best.” He tensed more as he heard a quiet sob. “Felix…?”
“It should’ve been me…” Felix raised his head up, revealing his teary eyes and quivering lip. “I don’t know what I was doing and now Maseru is just—” His voice breaks as he sobs more. Oleander wasn’t here to comfort him, so he clung onto Abel suddenly. He wasn’t sure what else to do.
“Oh, alright—” Abel awkwardly wrapped his arms around Felix. He never was one for physical comfort… or comfort at all, really.
“I’m sorry… I’m so fucking sorry…” Felix couldn’t stop his tears, constantly muttering his apologies.
Abel stayed silent. He held Felix and let him break down his emotions. It was odd, really. Out of all the pain he had seen and inflicted, he found that he didn’t get joy from this. Felix really did care deeply for his team— no, his family.
Felix really did find a way to always keep Abel on his toes.
