Одна из крупнейших в мире, вторая по величине в России радиоастрономическая обсерватория, подразделение Особого конструкторского бюро Московского энергетического института. Расположена в Тверской области, недалеко от города Калязин.

Строительство обсерватории началось в середине 70-х годов и продолжалось почти 20 лет. Объект был сдан в 1992 году, с 1995 здесь проводятся регулярные исследования. Сердце объекта — радиотелескоп ТНА-1500 или РТ-64. Телескоп, диаметром 64 метра, предназначен для фундаментальных космических исследований пульсаров, а также поиска галактических, внегалактических объектов и получения данных от космически отдаленных спутников. Общая масса сооружения равна примерно 3800 т, масса зеркала — 800 т. Калязинский телескоп отличается тем, что его зеркало может поворачиваться по горизонтали на 360 градусов, а по вертикали — больше чем на 90 градусов.

Радиотелескоп способен принимать сигналы из космоса на расстоянии более 300 млн километров. Информация поступает на зеркальный диск, состоящий из 1200 дюралевых пластин. Далее сигнал отражается на малое зеркало и затем через центральную кабину поступает на компьютер. Здесь данные обрабатываются и передаются в нужном направлении.Чтобы ветер не нарушал ориентацию зеркала, на территории обсерватории установлена вышка высотой около 30 метров с флюгерами: они определяют его направление и силу. В том числе благодаря этому у телескопа уникальная точность, погрешность составляет менее одного миллиметра.

Kalyazinsky Radio Astronomy Observatory.

One of the largest radio astronomy observatories in the world and the second largest in Russia, a division of the Special Design Bureau of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. It is located in the Tver region, near the city of Kalyazin.

The construction of the observatory began in the mid-70s and lasted for almost 20 years. The facility was commissioned in 1992, and regular research has been conducted here since 1995. The heart of the object is the TNA—1500 or RT-64 radio telescope. The telescope, with a diameter of 64 meters, is designed for fundamental space research of pulsars, as well as searching for galactic and extragalactic objects and receiving data from cosmically distant satellites. The total mass of the structure is approximately 3,800 tons, the mass of the mirror is 800 tons. The Kalyazinsky telescope differs in that its mirror can rotate 360 degrees horizontally and more than 90 degrees vertically.

The radio telescope is capable of receiving signals from space at a distance of more than 300 million kilometers. The information is transmitted to a mirrored disk consisting of 1,200 duralumin plates. Next, the signal is reflected onto a small mirror and then transmitted to a computer through the central cabin. Here, the data is processed and transmitted in the right direction.To ensure that the wind does not disrupt the orientation of the mirror, a tower with a height of about 30 meters with weathervanes is installed on the territory of the observatory.: they determine its direction and strength. This is also why the telescope has a unique accuracy, with an error of less than one millimeter.
