it's so interesting to me that despite kamet's upbringing and experiences as a palace slave he seems to just ...have a really expressive face? to the point where his main advice to costis when they get captured isn't "control your expression" but to control your thoughts because "everything shows on your face" -- even at the end when melheret finally offers to take kamet back, melheret sees kamet's "no" on his face before he says it
