The Junteidō Hall (准胝堂) of Upper Daigo (上醍醐) at Daigoji Temple (醍醐寺) in Kyoto, eleventh temple in the Thirty-three Temple Western Pilgrimage Circuit dedicated to Kannon Bodhisattva (観音菩薩)
Originally established by the temple’s founder Shōbō (聖宝) in 876, the structure photographed here was the hall as rebuilt in 1968, since lost in a fire caused by a lightning strike in 2008

A hymn for Juntei Kannon:
How reliable is The Kannon of Juntei Hall, That even folks who Wind up here by happenstance Are encompassed by Her vow!

The text above reads something along the lines of “Revered Juntei, Mother of Buddhas, who in all of Japan descended exclusively upon Mount Daigo for the safe childbirth of designated heirs”--an apparent reference to the Junteidō Hall’s founding by the monk Shōbō (聖宝) in 876 after he successfully prayed to Her for the birth of two emperors
