Obito sliced her hand open on the kunai she was sharpening with genuine surprise at his question. She knew he’s heard her talking in her sleep before. She was actually considering telling him then.
“Toss me the bandages.” she mumbled, watching blood drip down her hand and trickle onto her wrist.
She stood, making her way to the sink to clean her hand. “Rin’s part of the reason…” She admitted softly.
Nodding slightly, the boy reached around the counter to where the bandages had been knocked to the floor a few days prior, muttering a quiet apology as he placed them beside her on the bench before sitting back down as he had been.
“Part of the reason..? You talk about her a lot, but never say more than ‘she was a friend’ when I ask about it. I know she died but... Who was she? Why was she so important?”
He paused for a moment, almost contemplating not asking the next question, but shaking his head slightly and continuing anyway. “And what’s the full reason? Why can’t I go back home to my mother?”

The fact that it has a rich history of dialects and the complexity of the language on its own! Someone living 30 minutes from where you live has a very different dialect, and sometimes people have such difficulty to understand each other due to the differences in words we use in different in how we pronounce words. My dialect of example gets subtitles while on tv and no other dialect of Flanders gets that, while I think that's so unfair because I can't understand the other dialects, but these others don't go along with subtitles! Also, people who speak my language make so many mistakes even when it's their first language, it's quite funny and maybe a bit worrying. Okay, each language probably has those difficult things, but Dutch is by no means an easy language to maintain.
