An announcement about Track Two of Best in Me and on! Above is a sample of things to come, from the present of the comic- far left- to the temporary future of the comic- far right.

Due to both Elta and I seeking employment and our personal lives and health being all kinds of messy, we are temporarily switching the comic over to black and white while we get things settled down. In the future we will be going back and colorizing the tracks that are going to be black and white, and no Audioform content will be in black and white, but for now we need to take a small step back and simplify our production process a little.

Keep in mind that this is only temporary in the long term scheme of the comic, and will be implemented starting in Track Two, which is still a couple weeks off!

Yep! We are upping the @bestinmecomic to TWO updates a week, because we are so darn excited to get this comic out. Hopefully it’ll last quite some time. Want to see more of these cuties? They’ll be around next track!

Work is progressing slowly.... We’re probably about halfway done with the first  track, and that much closer to launch for the comic.

Audioforms: A storytelling device used to represent the singing or instrumental style of a performer, so music may be presented in a visual medium. This is Walter’s audioform singing the song “Earthquake Love.”

What kind of coffee does Steven drink? Does he have a particular roast he likes? How does he take his coffee? His opinions on Starbucks?

Steven drinks his coffee black and strong in the morning, dark roast, usually from the company Peets. He likes their Kona, French, and specialty Uzuri blends. The Uzuri is his favorite on mornings when he’s had a rough day previously. 

The fanciest he’ll take his coffee is a professionally prepared cappuccino. He does like espresso, but not too much at once. When preparing for conventions, though, he’ll take a “Red Eye” (two shots of dark espresso in a 12 oz cup, filled the rest of the way with regular coffee) with sugar and cream. 

(If he’s had a bad day the day before and he doesn’t have work, he’ll drink Kona from Peets, with a shot or two of whatever alcohol he’s in the mood for. He calls that his “wobbly wake up”.)

Starbucks is alright, in his opinion, but overpriced and not particularly great for the price. He’d rather support smaller coffee shops, if he’s going out for a cup’a joe. 

He’s kind of a coffee snob without the snob part.

Best in Me has a new title logo! The label will change depending on what each track or album is. This better reflects a lot about BiM, as well as letting me add a touch of retro to our solarpunk future in the comic- Cassettes come back in style, because who doesn’t love an actual mixtape?
