Mothingan is The Goddess of Death (Theory).
In a video of Astyla, it was revealed by the lore master, that Mothingan isn't a vilain, she actualy helps coaches to "find a place to rest", now even with the lore master confirmation, you could raise some eyebrows about Mothingan, but we have some evidence who suggests that she's a goddess. First of, her motto are butterflies, in ancient greek, the word for butterfly is "Psyche" but here's the thing, that's also the same word for 'soul', my second point is Floworld, in Floworld there are currently two places with names, "Portal Of No Return" and "Elysian Way" which made me think that Floworld is maybe the afterlife of the Danceverse, and the crypt of Mothingan could actualy be a portal to Floworld, where she guides the souls/butterflies there, so that they could find peace in the afterlife. And by that logic, Kan'dake (Ma Itu), would a kind of "Cerberus", where Mothingan makes sure that every soul enters Floworld, while Kan'dake makes sure that no soul scapes.
