Italian symphonic metallers Eternal Silence's new album Timegate Anathema is out now. For the album's release, Eternal Silence is sharing the new music video for their single ‘Edge of the Dream’, a powerful song, with heavy riffing and a strong orchestral section. The alternation between female and male vocals designs a catchy melody together with the inserts of the choir. “Since the very beginning this song was there, and it looked like it was always there. Alberto wrote it in the initial stages of the preparation of the album, but it wasn't immediately chosen to be part of this work. Marika took part in writing the lyrics and we struggled a lot to find a good solution for the chorus. Everything fell in the right place when we were recording in studio and with Michele Guaitoli we had the idea of a choral part in the chorus, used as a counterpoint to the main voice. The result was one of the most epic songs we've ever written.” adds the band.

Once Human, the band featuring ex-Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader, is now streaming their new single ‘Only In Death.’ The single almost feels like a ballad with its lilting rhythms, but still remains plenty heavy and clear outta "ballad" territory. "This is my most personal song on the new album. It meant so much to me, that I really needed to get my hands dirty with the visuals," said vocalist Lauren Hart. "Logan and I filmed everything to keep the song’s the raw meaning. Musically, it’s very emotional and dire, and the outro is probably my favorite piece of music on the album!" ‘Only In Death’ is off Once Human's forthcoming album, and first since 2017, Scar Weaver due out February 11. No one is more brutal to us, more precisely evil in their criticism, than the voice in our own heads and it’s something I’ve struggled with a great deal in my life. Uppercut!’s message is one of self-destructive defiance: do your worst but it won’t be a patch on what I already do to myself. It’s a song that lives at rock bottom but hopefully lets people feel less alone if they struggle with the same thing. UK band Venom Prison have announced a new album, Erebos, due February 4 via Century Media. The first single is ‘Judges Of The Underworld,’ which toes the line between real-deal death metal and melodic metalcore, and it delivers a very powerful message, as the band explains: “’Judges Of The Underworld’ deals with the crippling reality of people who face incarceration, who oftentimes are followed by violence over a lifetime. This violence can present itself as a dominating factor in a context of structural poverty and racial inequality, creating roles in an individual’s  life where they are not only the victim, but also witness and offender at different times in different situations. But the violence we address in our courts and prisons is judged out of social context and can therefore not lead to a fair and personalised resolution for people who are stuck in a cycle of violence and systematic oppression. It was important for us to visualise this feeling of isolation, anxiety and repeated violence in the music video for ’Judges Of The Underworld’ and the idea was to show an individual that is stripped down to their basic needs and instincts. Consumed by their helplessness to navigate in an everyday situation, feeling isolated within themselves whilst going under in a sea of people that face similar conditions. This is where Thomas Coe Brooker comes in as a director and cinematographer, with his unique eye for detail he was able to bring out this combative helplessness and aggressiveness of said individual. He was able to convey the feeling of being alone in a crowd, suffering the same fate as many others, where isolation becomes your existence and a vicious cycle of your life at the hands of systematic violence.” [via Brooklyn Vegan]

Swedish band Follow The Cipher posted a statement saying their lead vocalist, Linda Tonigrahn, is leaving the band for good to pursue her own path in a new direction. As a last goodbye with Linda on vocals Follow The Cipher released a new song, “Rewind The Stars”. The new singer and the next plans of the band remain unknown. [via Metal Goddesses]
