Seeing ethnic, religious LGBT+ folk in TV like Sex Education, One Day At A Time and Ackley Bridge is always bittersweet. On the one hand you finally watch someone in your exact situation recieve love and acceptance from their family after being terrified of being rejected and shamed. On the other hand you watch with jealousy as they get everything you spend everyday wishing you had but know you never will. Kinda like false hope.

My thoughts on 3x5

- ok I’m sad that Nav and Cory r on a friend break/breakup but good for nav for doing what’s right for him!

- Cory’s face when he realized what was happening b4 he flipped the tray... :(((((

- Sian. I really thought she was gonna help Cory realize his feelings for Naveed, and now I look like a motherfucking clown. I literally couldn’t do anything but scream no during their sex scene. She is manipulating him into thinking they have a romantic connection bc he has no one else to turn to. I did see someone say though that the storyline shows how someone can seem completely harmless but then cause a lot of destruction, and hopefully Cory learns some kind of lesson.

- Kaneez and Mandy :))) that storyline was so sweet! And yay Nas for working hard in school! Also her and riz r the best for trying to cheer nav up! Feel like we haven’t rly seen riz in forever!

- I’m glad Naveed met someone. Idk how I feel about Nory atm seeing as they have essentially “broken up” but my hopes are that they make up (which I think they will based on the scene from the trailer), Cory somehow gets in the right state of mind and realizes that he has feelings for Naveed, and maybe his thing with sian will teach him a valuable lesson. Idk, id love nory to get together but also I just want whatever makes naveed happy. And if Mathew does that than yay!

In conclusion I’m interested to see how they plan to redeem nav and Cory’s friendship, and from what Sam Retford (Cory) said at the beginning of the season, have Cory accept his sexuality and or feelings for naveed. I hope Cory apologizes to naveed and maybe this thing with Sian (fuckin nonce) shocks him into realizing the consequences of his actions.

Anyways, excited for next weeks ep. do we have a summary for it?

What in heck was up with Cory’s storyline? No explanation about his sexuality, no big moments for him, just a manipulative teacher who gave him anxiety. Get a grip Ackley Bridge and let be happy with Naveed
