Synopsis: Two players each take a Pocky stick and begin nibbling from opposite ends, aiming to get to the middle without breaking the stick or pulling away first

You rush into Kaneshiro’s room not even bothering to knock after you learned about the pocky game from watching your favorite k pop group TXT play it. “KANESHIRO, we have to try this game, it looks so fun” you exclaim. “You never knock” she says with a soft smile on her face. Ignoring her comment, you walk over to where she’s laying on her bed and show her the video of TXT “We have to try this” before she could reply you've already pulled matcha flavored pocky out of your pocket.

She eyes the pocky and sighs “I’m not getting around this am I?” You shake your head smiling in response. In the time she’s gotten to know you she’s learned once you’re excited and have set your mind to something there is no stopping you. She takes the pocky from your hand and opens it pulling on out and holding it between her fingers, bringing it to her mouth as if she was holding a cigarette.

“Let’s see who wins” she says, challenging you. You lean in closer to take a bite of the pocky. Her violet eyes never look away from yours as you continue biting the pocky. Each bite makes you lean in closer until you’re completely hovering over her.

Neither of you pull away as you slowly continue to eat away at the pocky. You’re taking your time to savor this moment. You’ve had a crush on Kaneshiro since you’ve joined the team but you weren’t sure if the feelings could ever be mutual. You pause a bit when you get down to the last bite looking into her eyes almost asking if you have permission to continue.

You take the last bite of the pocky savoring the matcha flavor as your lips brush softly against hers. To your surprise she doesn’t pull away. Her reaction causes you to try something more bold, you fully lean in to kiss her. You feel a sudden sharp pain in your bottom lip causing you to lean back shocked.

“Did you just bite my lip?” You reach to touch your lip where the feeling lingers. You watch as Kaneshiro shifts her weight onto one leg placing her hand on her hip. “So what if I did?” You laugh at her response. "you're lucky I love you" you say in between laughter you find her reaction to be very cute. “Did you just- say you love me?” She asks, making your eyes go wide not realizing you’ve accidentally confessed your one sided feelings.

You shyly take a step back rubbing the back of your head with your hand while fiddling with whatever is in your pocket with your hand. “No I definitely didn’t say anything you must be hearing things” you say hoping she buys it. “Ok well I definitely don’t love you too” she replied. “HUH?! Wait- what did you say?” You are shocked by her sudden confession “nothing, I didn’t say anything” she replies as she exits the room leaving you with thoughts as you try to pinch yourself to make sure you weren’t dreaming.

neon lights buzzed faintly in the alleyway of Kaneshiro’s team’s territory, casting sharp shadows on the ground. you hadn’t meant to wander into their space; your gym wasn’t far from here, and after a long evening of training, your legs took you on an unintentional detour. cool night air brushed against your face as you checked your phone for directions back to the main road.

that’s when trouble found you.

“oi! you lost or something?” a lanky guy with dyed red hair called out, his cronies flanking him. the cocky sneer on his face told you all you needed to know — he was itching for trouble.

you raised your hands in a defensive, pacifying gesture. “i’m just passing through. didn’t mean to intrude.”

“oh, look at this! what a shy thing here, in our den.” his laugh grated against your nerves, but you kept your composure. after all, you weren’t looking for a fight. you were off the ring, and the last thing you wanted was to make a scene.

but one of them got too close. too bold.

when he reached out to grab your shoulder, instinct kicked in. your fist connected with his jaw in a perfect arc before you could think twice. the sound of the hit echoed in the alley. he crumpled to the ground, out cold, and you immediately froze, horrified.

“oh, crap,” you muttered under your breath. this wasn’t what you wanted at all.

the rest of the gang tensed, but before they could react, a calm yet commanding voice cut through the tension like a blade.

“what’s going on here?”

suddenly someone stepped into view, her hands shoved casually into her kimono pockets. her silver hair caught the light, giving her an almost ethereal presence. her sharp eyes scanned the scene, landing on you and then the unconscious guy on the ground.

you swallowed hard. if there was one person you didn’t want to escalate this situation, it was her.

Kaneshiro tilted her head slightly, a faint smirk playing at her lips. “let me guess. this one got ahead of himself?”

you nodded sheepishly, unable to meet her gaze. “… i didn’t mean to. he just — he grabbed me, and i reacted. i don’t usually —” you trailed off, feeling the heat rise in your face. it wasn’t often you lost control like that, and the embarrassment weighed heavily on you.

but to your surprise, Kaneshiro didn’t seem angry. if anything, she looked amused. “chill out. i’ve seen worse,” she said, crouching down to check on guy. after a quick assessment, she waved her hand dismissively. “he’ll live.”

the rest of the gang shuffled nervously, clearly unsure how to proceed. Kaneshiro straightened and fixed them with a sharp glare. “and what are you all standing around for? he deserved it. get him out of here.”

they scrambled to comply, dragging the unconscious guy away without another word. Kaneshiro turned her attention back to you, her expression softening. “you’re not from around here, are you?”

“no,” you admitted, feeling a little calmer now. “i’m a boxer. my gym not so far from here, i didn’t mean to wander into your territory. i just got lost.”

she chuckled, the sound surprisingly warm. “a pro, huh? that explains the punch. clean hit.” she tapped her chin, as if filing the information away for later. “don’t worry about it. i get it. he deserve it, he had hard time with behavig.”

you blinked, surprised by his understanding. “really? you’re not mad?”

“mad?” she shook her head, smirking. “why would i be? you handled yourself just fine. besides, they shouldn’t have messed with you in the first place. guess they learned their lesson.”

relief washed over you, and you finally allowed yourself to breathe. “thank you.”

Kaneshiro studied you for a moment, her sharp eyes softening. “you’re pretty shy for a fighter. don’t let this mess get to you.” she came a little closer to take a look at your phone screen and you could feel her perfume mixed with a cigarette smoke. she gestured toward the road. “head that way, and you’ll hit the main street. should be an easy walk back.”

you nodded, offering a small, grateful smile. “thanks. really.”

as you walked away, you couldn’t help but glance back. Kaneshiro was still standing there, watching until you were out of sight...

the low hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses filled the cozy interior of the bar, the kind of place tucked away in a quieter corner of city. you hadn’t planned on stopping here tonight, but after an exhausting week, a moment of solitude and a drink sounded like the perfect fix.

your knuckles still ached faintly from training earlier in the day, and as you sipped your drink at the far end of the bar, you let yourself unwind, letting the noise fade into background static. that was until you caught the tail end of a voice that pierced through the calm like glass shattering.

“oi, what did you just say to me?”

your eyes drifted across the bar. a guy — a hulking figure in a leather jacket — was standing way too close to someone with striking deep-blue hair and a face twisted somewhere between exasperation and amusement.

Noah leaned against the bar with a pint in hand, looking more irritated than anything as she tried to dismiss someone.

“oi, i said no, mate.” her voice was sharp but controlled, mimicking his words, though the man pestering her clearly didn’t care.

“c’mon, sweetheart, don’t be like that.” he leaned closer, his voice slurred with booze and bad intentions.

Noah’s jaw clenched, her fingers tapping against her glass in what you recognized as the beginnings of a warning. she looked really irritated

before you realized what you were doing, you slid off your stool and crossed the bar in a few measured strides.

“hey!” you called sharply, drawing both of their attention. Noah turned to glance at you, her brow raised, while the guy straightened up, looking annoyed.

“what do you want?” he grunted, clearly displeased by the interruption.

you smiled faintly, keeping your hands relaxed and loose. “i want you to take the hint.” you gestured to Noah, keeping your tone even but firm. “she told you ‘no.’ time to back off.”

the man narrowed his eyes, clearly deciding you weren’t much of a threat. “mind your business, yeah? this ain’t got nothin’ to do with you.”

he didn’t know it, but you were already gauging distance, angles — how to deal with him if it came down to it. fighting wasn’t your first choice, but you weren’t about to let someone like this harass her.

when you didnt move, he scoffed, stepping forward to square up with you. “you think you’re some kinda hero?”

before you could reply, his hand shot forward toward your shoulder — a mistake on his part. your body moved instinctively. one shift, one clean strike. your fist connected with his solar plexus in a single, controlled motion. he gasped audibly, staggering back into a nearby stool and nearly tripping over himself.

the bar went quiet for a moment. eyes turned in your direction, but you ignored them, keeping your attention on the guy who was now wheezing and swearing under his breath.

“you good?” you asked casually, as if nothing had happened.

“piss off,” he spat, finally stumbling away toward the door, muttering curses.

you sighed, brushing off the tension and turning toward Noah. to your surprise, she was watching you with an expression that hovered between amused and impressed, her head tilted slightly.

“well,” she said, her voice light with a hint of teasing, “aren’t you full of surprises?”

your face warmed slightly under her gaze, and you rubbed the back of your neck. “sorry. i didn’t mean to… uh, make a scene. i just—”

“relax,” Noah interrupted, a small grin tugging at the corner of her lips. “he had it coming.” she tipped her pint toward you, as if in salute. “you’re quicker than you look. you a fighter?”

you nodded sheepishly. “professional boxer, yeah. didn’t really want to punch him, but…”

“but he was asking for it,” Noah finished, her grin growing. “thanks, though. i could’ve handled him, but it was nice to watch someone else put him in his place for once.”

you felt a small flicker of embarrassment but smiled back. “anytime, i guess?”

Noah laughed softly, an easy, carefree sound that cut through the tension still lingering in the room. “you’re not bad, you know. what’s your name?”

you told her, and she repeated it, like she was testing how it sounded. “noted.” she grabbed her drink and took a step closer, her sharp eyes sparkling with curiosity. “next round’s on me. least i can do after you saved my night.”

“you don’t have to—”

“don’t argue,” she said with a wink, grabbing you under your arm. “it’s not every day someone gets to throw a punch and impress me.”

you couldn’t help but laugh, your earlier nerves melting away as you followed her back toward the bar. the noise of the room picked up again, but for the rest of the night, it felt like the two of you existed in your own bubble — talking about fights, bikes, travels, and the strange way life brought people together.

you didn’t know if you’d see her again after tonight, but as she grinned at you over her drink, you had a feeling this wouldn’t be the last time your paths crossed.

i’m so happy ppl were able to talk to knsr & nmr about ness. we got confirmation that he will be heavily relevant later on which helps soothe my nerves cuz w the way this match has been going i for sure thought it was over. though i wonder when exactly ness’ development will happen. this match will probably be ending in 2-3 chapters, so will ness some how stick around afterwards w some club related arc??? or will we have to wait for the u20 wc??? being a journalist and a traveler is fun! for you, maybe not for some people. you enjoy travelling to places you've planned to visit alone. reviewing foods and places, feeling the new surroundings around you everytime you wake up in your hotel room to start yet another adventure in a whole different country.

yesterday, you arrived in Japan around midnight and of course you had to make your way towards the best place to crash in! you'd prefer booking a hotel room for enough days to stay there.

your alarm buzzing next to you, your phone screaming for you to get up and explore once more. in the white puffy sheets, you snooze it off before you stretch your body out, yawning out of tiredness from last night's flight.

of course its tiring, chasing after last minute flights and not getting enough sleep on the airplane because of how uncomfortable it is for you. u get what i mean.

today, you've decided to explore the lovely city. the tradition is everywhere, people wearing their traditional clothes which amuses you, catching your attention everytime you pass by everyone. its truly beautiful to see such folks being supportive of their origins.

stopping by restaurants, taking pictures of everything, capturing the beautiful scenery around. busy city, and yet very happy.

while walking down Osaka, you stumble upon a small tattoo shop. the dim lighting around it makes the aesthetic of the place looked even better mixed with the dark weather.

you've also ran out of things to do, and wanting to explore more of the place wasn't enough, not until you actually get what you wanted. a tattoo.

you stepped inside the small, cozy building, the bell that has been tied around the door handle from the inside had caught one employee's attention for a mere second.

you took in the way it felt cold and comfortable in the place, looking around the interior, nicely decorated. not too much of a mess, but fitted into your likings.

"hello. welcome." a woman, who's looking like the owner of this place, greeted with a smile. gratifying her accent upon seeing a foreigner stepping inside her shop.

the shop owner has a very short hair, divided with two colours which is black and white. shown wearing a white strapped tank top with her black bra peeking under it and topped it with a slightly oversized haori, comfortable in her sweatpants which matched her whole outfit.

her expression seemed mean, but she still feels nice to be with. the tone of her voice welcoming you as if asking you to make her place your own.

"what would you like to do today?" she asks, you watched her lighting up her cigarette after the one she had in between her lips had gone out.

"i'd like to do this." you scrolled through your phone before showing her a picture of a Japanese hieroglyph, 愁 (shu), which meant "sorrow".

kaneshiro squinted her eyes at it, taking the stick of cigarette in between her fingers as she taps it on the ashtray.

"you know what? i have something better for you." she suggested, then gestured towards the bed where you have to lay on so she can do her work.

seeing your bright smile and beautiful foreign face, kaneshiro thought that the meaning of the tattoo didn't match with your nature.. much less getting one.

but since you've asked for her to do it on your upper back near your shoulder, she can't refuse to your request now can she? but she suggested that you get different one but the same concept.

so then while laying on your stomach, the little needles with ink stabbed softly into your skin. kaneshiro's eyes focusing on drawing the design she had picked for you. it hurts, simply because it was your first time getting a tattoo. but as time passes, you slowly become used to it and the pain starts to fade away.

it didn't take long to kaneshiro to trace the blue ink over your skin with a black permanent ones.

and with cold water sprayed on your back, kaneshiro wipes the small mess off as the tattoo finally finishes. beautiful work, done by a beautiful woman.

"alright. its done." she says, taking off her gloves and sliding away on her rolling chair to the side to grab a mirror for you to see.

when the design had reach your sight, you wowed in excitement, amazed by how simple, minimalistic and elegant it is on you. kaneshiro had did her job, and its grabbing your interest in her business.

"oh, wow! it looks pretty." your eyes couldn't rip away from it despite being a first time, amazed by a simple work of a professional.

"this one is different from the one you showed me." kaneshiro says, yet again lighting up one cigarette.

"you showed me the one that meant something else. i thought it wouldn't match your vibe so.." she pauses, taking a drag of the cigarette, puffing out cloudy air of smoke.

"this, pronounced 華 (hana). means flourishing, beauty." she explains, the tip of her finger traced over the black ink on your skin softly resulting you to shiver slightly at her cold touch.

it amazes you, for the third time. you nodded, understanding her better by the way she's saying it clearly.

you both held good conversations despite being different in a form of nationality. you told kaneshiro that you've come all over to Japan to take a nice trip considering you were a journalist.

and at last, kaneshiro's shop history was written in your little trip book as you spent the next hour of her telling her story of how she had aimed to be a tattoo artist.
