Secret Wars Theory and the Future of the MCU
Okay, I'll share what came to my mind yesterday and see if you see what I see.
What do we know so far about Secret Wars and the plans after it? That in Secret Wars, variants from different universes will fight for the existence of their universes. That after this, a soft reboot of the MCU with a single timeline is planned.
Tell me, what does it look like? Just like He Who Remains described what happened to him, how he had to leave one (sacred) timeline and create TVA.
Secret Wars have happened before. In another cycle of the universe's existence. What we have now (or will have after Doomsday) — the multiverse, the incursions, the variants, the Battleworld — has already existed. In a world where Kang hadn't yet become the He Who Remains but was a scientist who discovered other universes (and time travel).
In that cycle, the multiverse gave birth to an evil version of him, who started a multiversal war, in which, as I already mentioned, different variants fought to save their universes from annihilation. He stopped it by leaving only one timeline, cutting off branches and preventing the emergence of the multiverse to prevent Kang the Conqueror from appearing again. He created the TVA and isolated himself at the end of time as the He Who Remains.
Centuries later, Loki and Sylvie came and killed him, freeing the branches again and starting a new cycle "Sacred Timeline - Multiverse - Sacred Timeline".
But now we don't have Kang. This is a new cycle where Doctor Doom and Tony Stark take his place. Now listen to Kang's story again, replacing him with them. And in the end, you will get the promised soft reboot and a new He Who Remains.
