I love learning kanji nuances for verbs, specifically where the word is pronounced exactly the same, has largely the same meaning, but just enough of a shade of implication to wink-wink-nudge-nudge at the reader. Probably the best example imho is さがす (to search) - when written as 探す it implies ‘to search for something desired or needed’ but when written as 捜す it implies ‘to search for something lost’ OR ‘to search for the suspect of a crime’
If you’re 探された, someone loves and misses you. If you’re 捜された, the police are after you
