Mia Nascimento joins new idol group Kantanfu with members from ReLIeF
A new group called Kantanfu was revealed at ReLIeF’s disbandment concert yesterday, 14 July 2019, at Shibuya VISION.
Along with the two remaining members from ReLIeF, it was revealed that former Especia member Mia Nascimento has joined the group. It is worthy to note that Mia and Misa Saionji (ex. STEREO TOKYO) have been friends since their time together under Bermuda Entertainment Japan/Tsubasa Plus.
A new member named Shua from China also joins the group.
Kantanfu are marketing themselves as a multilingual group boasting members who can speak Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, English, and Japanese. The group will also carry over all of ReLIeF’s original discography mostly consisting of electronic dance music.
Mia tweeted the following regarding her inclusion in the new group:
From today, I’m Mia Nascimento of Kantanfu! ♪ I’m sure that there a lot people who are surprised by this sudden announcement, but I’m gonna do my best to give smiles and power to so many people! I want to work hard so people can think of me as this cool member of a group! Hope you can support me!
Mia Nascimento to collaborate on a song with ZETTAI WASURERUNA
It has been announced that Mia Nascimento will be collaborating with the rap group ZETTAI WASURERUNA.
The song is titled Inryoku feat. Mia Nascimento (Kantanfu) [引力 feat.ミア・ナシメント(かんたんふ)]. The song is an upbeat pop song which features Mia’s strong vocals as the the driving force.
Mia made an appearance as a secret guest at the group’s talk event held last night 10th of September at Koenji Pundit where the song was also previewed. It can be heard at this link at the 1:32:47 mark.
During the event, Mia revealed she received an offer to collaborated via a sudden DM from the group, who weren’t even following her at the time. The group members found out about Mia after a colleague showed them a video of her solo performance at a local venue in Asagaya, Tokyo. Upon seeing her performances on YouTube and hearing how their peers praised her and Especia, the group decided to approach her as they called her the “the real deal”.
Inryoku will included in the group’s upcoming single Sanshamendan E.P. which will be released at the group’s concert on the 17th of October.
Mia has also tweeted that plans for a digital release will be announced soon.
