I think it misses the point when people are like oh azula genuinely cared about ty lee and mai as friends No she didnt. there's a whole episode where they betray her and shes like HOW ARE THEY NOT TERRIFIED OF ME ANYMORE like she knows she's scaring and forcing them into working with her she has no delusions about them being her friends. People empathize with azula so they try to put average relatable emotions onto her but she is not an average person. she is a psychopath and thinks and feels like one. and this doesn't mean she's entirely unrelatable or impossible to sympathize with or incapable of feeling anything, she just does not and will not feel the same things a non psychopathic person would.
