A Breath of Fresh Air for a Fresh Year: Touchbase in Tagaytay 2018
To kickstart the year, we at Touchbase went on a relaxing and refreshing trip to Tagaytay last January 27-28. The weekend outing also served as a teambuilding activity for the new members to meet the rest of the family. The team enjoyed an overnight stay at a cozy and classy vacation house near the vicinity of Tagaytay.
Before we reached our destination, we stopped over for lunch. And what better way to fill and warm our hungry tummies than to have a taste of Tagaytay’s famous bulalo? Eating bulalo in Tagaytay is always different from eating it elsewhere. Each bowl of soup is made “the Tagaytay way”, and is more special when you share the meal with this group of special people. <3
After trying to finish off every serving of bulalo on the table, we visited the market and bought the ingredients that we would need for our home-cooked meals. We then continued our trip to a somewhat remote vicinity where the vacation house was located, and were stunned to find this kind of interior when we arrived.
As soon as we got there, everyone hurried off to find their rooms and explored the house after. Some took a nap to recover from the long ride, while the rest found other things to keep themselves busy.
Right after dinner, the teambuilding activities started. We were split into four groups that tested the abilities of each member. The first activity was a mental ability game, Quiz Bee ni Teddy Bee, wherein random questions of varying categories and levels of difficulty were asked. This was followed by a chill game called Kantaririt wherein members had their teams guess the song they picked using the word given to them as the lyrics. The last, but best game was the physical round, with the flour relay as its highlight.
Everyone was tired but the games were where teamwork and trust were tested – the actual goal of this year-starter activity.
Everyone enjoyed the rest of the night by dancing to our favorite grooves, singing out all the feels to the tune of Two Less Lonely People, eating and drinking, and just purely having fun in each other’s company. All these are the memories we’ve made and taken with us back to Manila as we start afresh and work together as one team for the year 2018 ahead.
