Would Inuyasha be happier to follow Kikyo to die during Kao arc instead of staying alive and suffering? Both Inuyasha and Kagome is very sad. If Kikyo is better for Inuyasha then I really wish Kagome could get better person and be happy.
But that’s does not seem to be the case, Kagome love Inuyasha so much and she willing to suffer only for Inuyasha happiness. Also maybe just be but I find Inuyasha and Kikyo how the characteristics build does not seem to be fit in very well, I feel the gap there I just could not put my hand on it.
I know many saying that Inuyasha and Kagome is not a good match because Kagome is abusive and they always fighting, my personal opinion that’s how relationships is, they open be themselves and free to be who they are, that just 15.
I don't think Inuyasha wanted to die. He still fought hard during the Kao episodes, especially where Kagome was concerned.
I do think that grief can be all consuming, however, and that's okay. It's okay to not be okay; that doesn't always mean we want it all to end. So yes, Inuyasha and Kagome are both very sad and I think also overwhelmed with guilt, each in their own way. But we also see how they get better, and move on. That's not to say they forget Kikyo and her sacrifice, but they appreciate her for what she did and they move forward.
I don't think I would ever describe Inukag as an abusive relationship, and as you mentioned, Kagome is only 15. You fumble through a lot of relationship stuff when you're that young, and make a lot of mistakes. But in a lot of instances I think she also handles things in a very mature manner, especially when Inuyasha is acting jealous. Does she use the sit command in some inappropriate instances? Yes, but I think that was more for comic relief from a writing perspective than what she would usually do🤷♀️ And it happens less often as the story progresses.
