is this comic a bit out of left field to you? it's not so much for me! although, i couldn't have predicted that i'd have drawn and written something for it now.

but reality is, psycho-pass coincided with and then had a pretty big influence on a big story i had started writing in 2011. i actually only continued from s1 this year (after rewatching s1 of course) and am currently on s3 as of writing. back then, i had listened to everyone else who complained about s2. for all its flaws, and even now, i sincerely admire how psycho-pass tries to push its own themes and settings. the last time i got this feeling in recent years was when i watched the orb anime.

anyway, happy psycho-pass launch date! i hope y'all are excited for the zine itself 'cause i am! needless to say, everyone's made absolute bangers! but also because this zine my first one with the psycho-pass fandom and it's been a very refreshing and welcoming experience, i really, really, really hope whoever's out there will take a gander at what we've created!!!

in other news, i suppose i don't have to sign with -? anymore, not that i was doing it in the last few posts. because it's obvious who i am, right?

Psycho-Pass character’s retirement plans

Chief Kasei: The people who work in the MWPSB are... very unlikely to retire.

Chief Kasei: I myself can retire since I can switch myself out to another brain.

Yuki: I would place myself in one of the Sibyl-created retirement homes for my maximum comfort and happiness.

Kaori: I would do the same. I would love to be able to explore different hobbies, instead of just sitting around like I do in my desk job.

Akane: Even if we in the MWPSB aren’t expected to live long enough to retire, I would love to just explore places in the world, see new culture, and meet new people.

Kei: The people outside are just as discriminatory to foreigners.

Akane: Oh...

Akane: Maybe I’ll just throw myself into confinement instead.

Kei: I would love to return to my home country with my wife, safe and sound, though.

Mika: I don’t know what plans I have, but I hope by the time I retire I would rid myself of the guilt I harbor.

Mika: With the stress I have been lately, maybe all I’ll do is get therapy.

Shion: I hope I can improve my Psycho-Pass enough to get out of here and have a good life, and retire properly.

Shion: Maybe find myself someone to settle down with...

Ginoza: I don’t know if I would be able to retire from this job, knowing the fools who run the operation. I’ll be way too anxious if I’m not there to help.

Kogami: I ran away from Sibyl, pretty much making that my retirement. Which kinda wasn’t relaxing.

Kogami: And I threw myself into a lot of conflict too.

Kogami: And then I returned to a more respecting job, which is actually less stressful.

Kogami: So for now, I’m happy.

Yuki, Kaori, & Akane were CRAZY Students

They did some dumb shit in their teenage years (and would’ve probably continued...)

Like, their theme song would be “Go Hard (La La La)” by Kreayshawn with Yuki in the lead, Akane as support for both helping & saving, while Kaori is dragged along trying to be the logical one (she likes it though the liar).

Basically, the girl version of Sasayama, Kougami, & Ginoza team.

One such adventure was recreating “Scots in an Automated Elevator” bc Aka & Yuki have language electives together cuz they nerds, while Kaori does technical. The elevators have been considered cursed since then

Kaori’s Wedding

We were cheated out of seeing Akane’s friend Kaori’s wedding in the Psycho-Pass movie!

1. Akane would be maid of honor.

Kaori: So... you’re my best friend. Will you be my maid of honor?

Akane: I would be honored to!

Akane: Heh, get it? Honored.... honor.

Kaori: This better not be part of your toast.

2. Akane would try her best to be involved even with her busy police work.

Kaori: Where were you?? I needed you here!

Akane: I sent you a message saying I’ll be late!

Kaori: Yeah, I thought it meant like thirty minutes late, not three hours!

Akane: I had criminals to catch! I’m the lead Inspector of my division!

Kaori: Are you pulling rank on me??

Akane: What, no - 

3. Kaori will absolutely not allow any police business interfere with the wedding.

Kaori: Fine, do what you have to, but you must try to be here some of the time to help. And definitely no business during the actual wedding!

Akane: No worries, I’ll just give some more work for my junior Inspector.

Mika: *somewhere back in the bureau* I felt a sudden sense of dead.

4. Akane would finally meet the fiance (who was nameless in the movie).

Akane: Hi, I’m the maid of honor.

Fiance: I’m the fiance.

Akane: I know you are, but no name?

Fiance: Just being known as Kaori’s fiance is good enough for me.

Akane: 

Akane: That was pretty smooth.

5. Akane gets to bring a plus one.

Akane: I know you said no police business, but can I bring a coworker? We’ll both be off duty.

Kaori: Is it that dark brooding guy?

Akane: ....

Akane: I need more than that.

Kaori: The guy you said you felt confused about.

Akane: Not him. He used to be my senior Inspector but now he’s an Enforcer. We’re good friends.

Kaori: Can’t you date anyone who is normal?

Akane: I said we’re friends!

Kaori: Hey, you really put a new definition to ‘finding the meaning of your life’

Akane: KAORIIIII

6. Akane would feel guilty about Yuki.

Akane: I’m sorry, Kaori. I’m being a bad maid of honor. Yuki should have been here. She would have loved it.

Kaori: She really would have, but I never once blamed you for what happened.

Kaori: And I believe she’s looking down on us, smiling... and wondering why your hair still looks like a mushroom.

Akane: That was uncalled for.

7. Akane would give a great toast.

Akane: I’ve known Kaori since we were young middle schoolers. That means I know a lot of embarrassing stories about her.

Akane: But as a good friend and a way to pay respect for Kaori’s friendship, I won’t tell those stories.

Akane: I’ll instead paint stories about her kindness and gentleness.

8. It would be a beautiful wedding.

Kaori: *tight hug* Akane? Thanks for being here for me.

Akane: I’ll always be here for you. I’m so happy for you!

And they all lived happily ever after

Will AI one day replace our jobs?

Akane: Of course not! You need an Inspector to organize and execute a plan and you need Enforcers to use their skills to predict criminal behavior!

Kogami: Technically, our AI could do all of that for us if you program them well enough.

Akane: Wait, no, what are you doing to my brain - 

Ginoza: I don’t think so. Our society is so technology-based but it still needs people. Aren’t the technology we make for the people anyways, to make their lives easier?

Mika: Exactly. Sibyl helps choose our jobs and choose our life partners so that we don’t have the waste our time thinking of that. What’s the point of that programming if not for us? It’s not like robots are gonna use that stuff.

Kaori: Well maybe your jobs are safe, but what about us!?? Our desk jobs are easily replaceable!

Yuki: Yeah!!

Shion: Well, actually it’ll be awhile before AI could perfectly take over jobs, even for “manual” tasks. Notice how most of the AI are used for the police task force and finding criminals. We’ll have to build the new models for all the different jobs there are and teach it to learn and that’s not an easy process!

Akane: Y-yeah and who says it’ll be perfect? Makishima and Kamui almost got away even with our surplus of AI technology!!

Makishima: But how do we know that we’re not really the AI, the emotionless robots of the Sibyl system who live their lives like sheep?

Akane: Hey, don’t turn this on us - you were the one who tried to kill everyone!!

Makishima: Right, like you never killed anyone. Just like those dystopian novels of how the AI always turns on humanity.

Akane: *faintly* holy shit.

Akane: (texting) Love you too!

Sho: (texting) No, like love love

Sho: ...

Sho: I’ll try flowers and chocolate next.

4. Shion

Very suggestive... in every way.

Shion: *leans close to Akane* Y’know, before Kogami left us forever, he said me and him weren’t each other’s types.

Akane: Um, does this have anything to do with the case or ...?

Shion: *shows off her assets* Do you think we are each other’s types, Akane-chan?

Akane: The case, Karanomori-san!!

Shion: Sheesh! So serious!

5. Yayoi

Completely straightforward, deadpan delivery.

Yayoi: Tsunemori, a word please.

Akane: Sure, what’s up?

Yayoi: I love you. And here is the report you told me to do.

Akane: Oh.... Thanks!

Yayoi: Your welcome.

6. Mika

Face-to-face. But deeply struggles to get the words out.

Mika: *tries to get the words out for the past five minutes*

Akane: Inspector Shimotsuki, this is getting awkward.

Mika: Don’t interrupt me!!

Akane: Okay, sorry. Take your time.

Mika: *continues to struggle*

Akane: Oh boy.

7. Chief Kasei

Dominator carts. That’s how she does anything.

Akane: *sees a dominator cart roll over to her* Oh not again.

Akane: *takes the Dominator* What now?

Sibyl: After extensive testing and calculations, we have decided that we are very compatible and desire to extend our partnership to a relationship.

Akane: WHY DON’T YOU EVER DO THIS TO ANYONE ELSE

Chief Kasei: I knew she would like it.

9. Kamui

Guessing game.

Kamui: Your Psycho-Pass is so white, Akane.

Akane: So it is.

Kamui: What does the color white remind you of?

Akane: Um. Snow?

Kamui: I’m thinking more along the lines of wedding.

Kamui: And what does a wedding have?

Akane: Uhh...

Kamui: A bride. In a white dress.

Akane: Uh, yeah?

Kamui: A groom in black clothing.

Kamui: Here, put on this white dress I for some reason have.

Akane: This is getting really weird, I think I’m just gonna go?

Kamui: So close.

10. Makishima

Quotes can get you any guy, right?

Makishima: Would you like to hear some quotes from famous philosophers about love and marriage?

Akane: I’m not Kogami-san. Find someone else.

Makishima: Well, I’ll just capture your friends then.

Akane: That’s not the only alternative option!!

8. Kaori

Simple, straightforward, but sometimes easy ignored.

Kaori: I love you, Akane!

Akane: Love you too!

Akane: Y’know strange story, but lots of people said they loved me today. I mean, I know they do, but we were in the middle of a really serious case and it just made catching the criminal so much harder today.

Kaori: ...

Akane: Today was just such a strange day.

Psycho-Pass characters and their advocate for net neutrality!

The FCC may vote to get rid of net neutrality. That means you have to pay much, much more to even access the Internet, which dramatically increases your living costs, and your usage will be more controlled (Huh does this sound like a certain anime?) This affects every American. But you can still stop it by calling your state senators, by being informed, and spreading this crucial information to others.

3. Ginoza: appeals to logos

Ginoza: I remember being a student, still being trained to be an Inspector.

Ginoza: Being able to do any research will be so much harder, especially when I was already in student debt.

Ginoza: Please help stop FCC from removing net neutrality!

Akane: Finally a good argument.

4. Chief Kasei: appeals to logos

Chief Kasei: The CID, too, has to pay for access to the Internet. Catching criminals will be much harder.

Akane: But aren’t you... Sibyl itself? So why do we have to pay?

Chief Kasei: I don’t have to pay. Inspectors have to.

Akane: But... your system... is based on us catching criminals.

Chief Kasei: Our laws don’t always make sense.

5. Kogami

Kogami: I want my life to be fixed.

Genie: That’s not very descriptive!

Kogami: I want to be with Tsunemori Akane!

Genie: Okay!

Kogami: *suddenly holding a picture of Akane* This... isn’t what I meant.

Genie: You got to be specific with your wishes. You’re down to two!

Kogami: Wait, can I wish for more wishes?

Genie: ...

Genie: She was busy solving a crime, wasn’t she?

Kaori: Yes.

Genie: I thought you were supposed to be the supportive, understanding background friend.
