P.S. I know the word "anti" has bad connotations, which is why I personally choose not to use it, and simply block content I find triggering. I just get a little surprised when I see that sort of polarized language being used by multi-shippers, b/c I thought they'd be against using labels, & judging people on the basis of the actions of a horrible few. Anyway, please don't see this as an attack or anything!! I'm just trying to offer another perspective, as someone who monoships but is chill :)

I do know there are shitton of people who never did anything bad and still claim themselves as an ‘anti’ and I really really hate that.

the whole anti thing started with assholes, and good people sadly started to pick up the word and now we have this huge division. Anti is a very very bad term.

I wish people would just use notp instead.

I really don’t care what people put in their header, if they call themselves anti-shaladin for example, if they make good Allurance art, i will reblog it.

If they post hate and bullshit I will block them. It’s not what you claim yourself to be it’s what you really are that matters.

Heya Cofie! I'm a big fan of your work, so please don't take this the wrong way! Don't you think though, that making assumptions about "antis" and saying they should all "die in a fire" is similar to the bad ones who judge shippers? It just dehumanises. For ages I blocked anyone with "anti" in the subject line, but then I realised that not all of them were cyber-bullying/aggressive, and some were just trying to avoid seeing certain ships for valid reasons from childhood, exactly the same as me.

The situation is:

The word Anti is too broad.

Antis in my eyes are the ones who just ‘do hate’. Who go and leave anon hates, those who leave nasty comments, those who only do crap.

Many people claim themselves to be ‘Anti’s of specific ships.

Meanwhile on the internet we have a PERFECT word for this.

it’s called a Notp. Otp: is ‘one true pairing’. 

ntps is having a ship that you just can’t look at. That is your Notp. 

Having notps does not make you an anti.

The word anti is WAY too aggressive, it’s way too negative, it LITERALLY is asking for trouble.

Meanwhile just saying I have Notp is a simple and easy way to express you don’t like a specific pairing.

The word Anti is also pretty much used in negative context. It is basically to express something you actively fight against. 

Anti-Abortion. Those people are terrible and lets not even mention them.

Anti-Vaccine people… those people are literally believing a lie and are bringing deadly danger to not only to their own child but to society around them.

Anti is literally a negative term.

Just because you do not ship a ship… doesn’t make you a social justice warrior that actively fights against it. It just means you don’t ship… a specific ship… of a character with other people.

I wish people would STOP using this for themselves because it is SO negative and is saying: He I hate thing and I will go out of my way to ruin it for everyone who likes it.

Just start using the good old Notp to express yourself instead.

Really… guys.. If you are antishaladin, just stop using the word anti. Start using the words notp instead. It’s less of a war that way.

I have talked to people who were bullied so badly that they started to block everyone who doesn’t ship the same things (or like even mention anythign negative about a ship) because they are afraid of antis.

Antis are bad people. But too many GOOD people use the term ‘anti’ on themselves. 

At the begnning antis were literally those who disliked the shiro x paladin age difference so much that they went into good people’s inbox and comments and started hate and were just ruthless disgusting assholes.

The word Anti got adopted because it is powerful.

But it’s powerful the wrong way.

If you don’t actually bully people stop calling yourself an anti.
