i think the most angsty zk headcanon i have is that on the night before katara’s wedding day to a@ng, zuko gifts her a necklace of some kind. he’s never expressed his feelings before, and he says it’s just a gift in celebration of her marriage, but they both know what it means. they both know that if circumstances were different — if zuko wasn’t the firelord, if katara didn’t feel a deep sense of attachment to her home and her people — the necklace might’ve been a betrothal necklace. katara never wears it, but she always keeps it on her
